Let's not forget that me not going to chat puts me out of the question as well.

So what would be the point of being nice? Seung could've become a mod because of that but she doesn't really go to chat, then she has 0 chance.

I mean, that's how corrupted the system is...in mostly every forum.

First, BMTHTori. If you want to be a staff member, you must contact one of the Site Admins. Creating a thread to show how great you'd be as a staffer won't get you anywhere. Take it from me bud, I've been a member for almost 7 years, and have been frequenting the since since 2001. I just became a mod this year. Don't feel bad if it doesn't happen right away. 'K. ^.^

Second, Kaitou.... I'm somewhat offended there by your assumption that someone has to visit the chat often to become a member. As a member of the forum, a chat goer, and as a staffer. There a plenty of staffers on the Forum, Pedia, Globe, Lyrics, Galleries, and/or Wallpapers that don't visit the chatroom and/or the other sites. They didn't get their positions by being buddy-buddy with everyone in the chat. Now for some folks like Amber that you've mentioned, I can't speak for or how they got to be an admin. I don't know, and every staffer has their own story to tell (about becoming a staffer). Typically though, it all comes down to need. I got my position because I saw that there wasn't anyone moderating the Western/Non-Jap section. Chat had little to do with it. Me going to a site admin and volunteering to moderate that section had everything to do with it.

As for Xey, he's right. Pretty much every mod has asked to become one. All Seung-li, Blueangel, and even BMTHTori have to do is talk to a site admin and tell them that they would like to become a staffer. Ultimately having the need for staff will net you the job though. It's the reason why there's little to no chat admins right now. There's not enough folks to gor into the chat to warrant for more.

Now, Seung-li, Blueangel. I'd be more than happy to welcome you two, and anyone else that becomes a staffer on board. And those wondering about doing it, all you have to do is ask. There worse that can happen is the Site Admin puts you down for future consideration. -Happened to me for 5 years trying to become a chat admin.-

Oh goodness, being a mod wasn't really in my mind honestly. I have no idea how the process works or anything. I would just assume that being a mod, the administrator would ask you to do so. I do find your post really interesting really. :3 I think it's real nice to know these kind of things and whatnot. Modding seems like a big responsibility, really. If I become one, I think it's an honor but I'm the kind of person that would like to be asked to do so, get what I mean? At least there's a full reason of becoming one anyway, knowing someone does want me to take roll as a mod.

Asking to be mod is more pathetic....way more pathetic. In other forums, it DQ'd you just for asking and that's how it should work. Those who ask for power shouldn't deserve power, you need to earn it.
