Looking for a Japanese learning buddy?

Hi everyone!
I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in being my online Japanese learning buddy. Learning Japanese is such a long and difficult process, and now that I'm only self-studying, I'm worried it will be hard to stay motivated. I thought it would be really great to have a buddy so we can keep each other motivated, share enthusiasm and ideas and stuff. I have been studying Japanese for several years, and did GCSE and A level Japanese, but I would still classify myself as a beginner.

I wouldn't mind having a language buddy. How would we communicate?

I'd say I know about 1000 words or so. I know all the basic grammar, though I can struggle sometimes. Kanji is not an issue for me.

Hmm, through the forum or email or Skype? Whichever method you prefer really. And kanji isn't an issue? Are you from China?

I'd be happy to participate as well - I'm getting back into the language, and I'm trying to read more (light novels and novels), branching out from just anime and manga specifically. I have a minor in Japanese, but I feel that I need more experience and vocabulary before I'm comfortable. I've even studied 2 semesters of Classical Japanese Literature, which is to modern Japanese like Victorian English is to modern English. My grammar is ok, but I'd just like to tighten everything up and learn how to read and translate better and more efficiently.

As we figure this out, I can work through various PC platforms or this forum.

I am looking for a Japanese language partner. My level is beginner. I took one class before they were canceled. I have been studying on my own since. I know a little formal/polite and more casual Japanese. I am taking a course online. It is called Japanese Through Anime with Ken Cannon. I am a married 31 year old from North Carolina, US. Yay! People actually want to talk to me. When I say beginner, I mean I just learned my first 20 Kanji. They are not very useful. They are things like tree and woman. The most useful so far is study. I do know hiragana and katakana. My online course focuses on the top 300 most used words in Anime. This is great for watching Anime while doing other things. The bad part is that I cannot say many everyday things. That is why I need a partner. I do not have Skype right now. But if I find someone that I will talk to often enough, I may get it later. I do have a webcam with a mic. I am married so I told my husband that I would use public communication with guys! I had a problem with my email and a guy harassing me. I don't know how to tell what my level is since i'm self-studying, but i can form sentences and somewhat chat using Japanese. I hope i can find someone who wants to practice via chatting.

hello. is this thread still active? i would like someone to be my japanese learning buddy. i'm still a beginner (i mean, really, i just know like, 30 kanji) but i can pretty much do grammar and my vocabulary is pretty good for a beginner. i can do hiragana and katakana but kanji is still a problem. if someone wants to be my buddy, i'm telling everyone that i can only contact via email. thank you. Hey there everybody, I'd like to embark on this venture, I've only recently started to learn the first two stacks of the Hiragana script. I've been looking for people, preferably groups of them to learn Japanese with, I would love to join all of you to do so.
