Signature Character Limit Increase?

Is there anyway we can increase the character code limit, I mean there's only 1000. Every time I want to put in quotes it's always too long when in reality it's less than half my current signature, it's really annoying and seems really limiting. =/

I just want to be able to put a quote... I heard the forums cut signatures off if they're too long anyways, so why not just make the character limit unlimited or at least at 5000, heck, I'll be happy at 2000. It's not like my signature will be longer than some of the signatures in this forum that shall remain nameless.

Edit: Anything you guys can do for VMs as well? I hate using PMs when comments get too long.

Well before I was trying to put

Not quite sure if this is something that mods will do. Maybe if there were enough people complaining about it, but that might be hard.

In truth, the limit is double what I'm used to. On some sites the limit is 500 because too many people complained about overly large sigs. My advice is to get some people together that share the same want as you on this topic and get them to work with you and the mods to come to some understanding.

Most forums I've been to usually have unlimited BUT they have a scroll bar if the signature is too large, AF also has something similar, the signatures just cut off, what I want to know is why have a character limit if the signature eventually cuts itself off anyways? I mean I've seen people with signature 2 times my current, what I want to do is just add text... =/

Seems unreasonable to edit it to 3975+ [thats how many characters are in what you just typed that I quoted up there^^] characters because of your annoying rainbows that look like this behind the scenes...

is 10008 characters long total in rainbow form... Unnecessary really... 10,000+ so you can have rainbows..? .

What I want is "Everyone's entitled to their own opinion but some abuse it.", that's only 1209 with rainbow, probably just a double in the character limit so 2000 or even 1500 could work.

You do realize your request is unreasonable, right? Why creating the grounds for big issues just to give one or two people the power to make their text a bit more stylish?
Besides, why not just open an image editor and make your rainbow text on a transparent background? o_o;;

I've been looking for any rules that state how long can your signature be as a whole x.x There's a member running around who has 2 sigs in their sig and if I aligned the first one to the very top of my screen a few centimeters would be chopped off at the bottom.. Seriously their sig takes up my entire window.. For example the screenshot in my sig.. Yup all of that is a single persons sig..

I've seen more like it... Nothing more annoying than a whole screen of signature.. >___>

There are rules about the size of the images in a sig, so there really isn't much need for reducing their number. Just wait until an admin notices it, or a mod is pissed off by it and points it out to an admin, or someone else is pissed off by it and brings it to the attention of the staff.
