So I haven't been on this forum for very long but a lot of members seem quite young, like under 20. Yes, I am jealous of your youth, but I wonder if many of you are more like mid to late 20's? Is it strange for a 26 yr old girl to like anime?

Age is just a number @Jasanime :P
Heres a song

thanks, feel a little bit better. Going to Avcon in July and don't wanna be like 10 yrs older than everyone. Since I have no anime loving friends I really don't know what kind of ppl are into it...
I haven't really grown out of anime, I'd say the one that changed is anime. I don't like the cliches and fan service, yet it seems to be becoming more prominent.
Yes, you are old 0.0
I'm just kidding. My sister is older than you (27.. For some reason that sounded way older that you until I wrote it), and she's still an anime fan. Though she doesn't go to Cons... Then again where she moved, there are no Cons.
Set made by the wonderful Seung-li.
"Everyone tries to define this thing called Character. It's not hard. Character is doing what's right when nobody's looking."

I'm 29 and I still enjoy collecting and watching anime-related shows and things.
And 26? that's ancient!
Nahhh age don't mean much for anime I know some people who are in their 30's and still cosplay
Age doesn't matter
My Brother who is now 28 years old still enjoy watching anime and cartoons. XD

I think that's because many people don't open talk about their interest in anime.
Waiting for
Christmas
Season four of Sherlock
The new Hobbit movie
Season five of Game of Thrones
New episodes of Downton Abbey
On the other hand, there may be people who enjoy a given series, or even a few, but don't enjoy the whole medium.
I know I fall into that category.
Besides, if anybody ever tells you you're too old to be a fan of something, just picture the average paunchy sports fan, and the absurdity of the assertion will become apparent. (They also have no chance of living in that world, indulge in a sort of fanfiction (fantasy leagues, etc.), dress up like their favorite characters, dress their children like their favorite characters, make disparaging fanboy-esque remarks about other groups they don't like, and so on.)
C'mon, man! SpongeBob is chock full of parental bonuses, which are just as fun for those who have no children. References to the temperance movement, "The Telltale Heart", real estate scams, recurring innuendos that Spongebob and Patrick are a gay couple, etc. That show is awesome!Originally Posted by Jacon's Ladder

Even my mom watches anime.
I'm 23, still enjoying anime. My brother's 28 and the still a fan. My dad's 52, and has been watching since the days of Astro Boy, and Gigantor when they were black and white, and still loves it.
If you enjoy it, don't stop. ^.^
Of course you're not too old to watch anime! XD There's animes out there for practically all age groups anyways. Heck, I adore the Magic Knight Rayearth series (known about it since August, started watching it last night) and that series is aimed at pre-teen girls.
Oh, Hi-deeki, imagine... your kind not eating raw fish! ^_^

Nope.
I'm 21 and still watch anime, although not as much as before college. Still gonna continue to watch though.
No power in the 'verse can stop me...
You're old....
And I'm only saying that because I find people who whine about thinking they are too old for something annoying. It's like a cry for attention. You're on an anime forum, have common sense, not a single person [except probably me since I don't give a darn] is going to tell you you're too old to be interested in a common interest we all share. NOT ONLY THAT, but you're 26... 20's and 30's are still young. It's not till you start hitting the 40's and above that you're even remotely old. So once again another cry for attention and what were you expecting from this.
Suck your moping and groping about your age up. I don't want to hear "am I old" from anyone unless they require a waker, a hearing aid, are super wrinkly and have white hair. [Far from the appearance for a mere 26 year old]
Besides have you even seen the demographic for the fan base of My Little Pony?! Your argument is invalid old fart.

I really don't mind what old people like to do.. I saw this old lady at MegaCon with purple died hair, you can still see her roots were kind of grey, and they were in high pigtails on both sides of her head... She sorta looked like that gothic girl from NCIS or whatever.. I actually thought it was cute for her to continue to pursue her interest let alone in public.. As long as your interest are not breaking any laws, people can like what they like regardless of age. At least in my book they can.
