Children who were taken to the cinema to watch an animated film were left crying in terror after a trailer for an exorcism movie flashed up on the screen.
The youngsters burst into tears after frightening images from the horror flick The Devil Inside, were accidentally shown before the screening of the U-rated Puss In Boots.
The cinema, in Wandsworth, south London, then also screened another inappropriate trailer for the forthcoming violent supernatural film Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
Furious parents were left shouting at cinema staff to turn the trailers off as they tried to comfort their crying children, it has been reported.
According to the Mirror, outraged parents shouted 'What the hell's going on?' as gory scenes flashed up on the screen.
A horrifying close-up of a woman possessed by a demon was shown in the trailer for the 15 certificate The Devil Inside, while Ghost Rider - which is a 12A - featured images of a burnt skull shooting flames from its mouth at the devil.
