Have you ever heard any songs by Asian Kung-Fu Generation? Some popular songs (popular by fans of course) are Haruka Kanata (a Naruto opening theme) and Rewrite (a Full Metal Alchemist opening theme). Besides those, their albums are awesome! I would say that their sound may be compared to punk (but not whiny (not to me anyway)), and some of their later work sounds somewhat influenced by the Beatles, but again, that's just me. I have five of their six major albums, and none disappoint. Well, hopefully this helps.
