I don't know any recent ones but there is Neon Genesis Evangelion and Fist of the North Star.

Ok ill give them a try thanks a lot![]()

I haven't watched many either so I don't how good they are compared to the best but you might like
Chrome Shelled Regios - Awesome main character when he goes all out and interesting magic system
Desert Punk - Comedy and so far mostly episodic. I really like it though
Deadman Wonderland - Post-apocalyptic setting but I wouldn't consider this too much into that genre
These ones are not exactly worldwide apocalyptic but they have the same elements and are more concentrated more on drama
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0
Grave of the Fireflies
And if you feel like manga
Psyren - Interesting take to post-apocalyptic setting
Senjougahara Fascination

Cool ill give all of them a try

Hi:
I loved evangelion. Fist of the north star is great, but the story is very sad.

Eden of the East!

Thanks for all the list guysi really appreciate it

As Screwby said ,Desert Punk is quite funny...
Screwby liked this post

Two of the darkest and most intense (Post) apocalyptic animes I have ever seen:
Blue Gender
The Second Renaissance

Yeah , the third was decent , but it was still a B grade movie at best...

does Blue Sub No. 6 count as a apocalyptic anime
(>^w^)>*hugz*<(^w^<)

Thanks a lot everyone ima try watch them all![]()

Gurren Laggan
Darker Than Black
Wolf's Rain
And as others have previously stated: Eden of the East, Trigun, Neon Genesis Evangleion

Apocalyptic and Erotica Mixed : I will Recommend High Of the Dead (Anime) and Cage Of Eden (Manga)

@avina I've watched high school of the dead but ill give the other a try.

Definitely watch Evangelion. Just. When you watch the ending. Prepare yourself. There's 2 actually. I'd say watch both but that's just cause I really like Evangelion. Then you can start watching the rebuild of evnagelion compilation/new story movies with better animation. Those are also awesome. Just a noobies 2 cents.

No. 6. (Not Blue Sub No. 6, just regular No. 6). Best apocalyptic anime I've ever seen.
Also, a good manga I'd recommend is Aphorism, although it is sort of a stretch to put it in the apocalyptic genre. It's also extremely depraved; it freaked me out and I couldn't finish it, but I still liked it.

I'd say highschool of the dead when they expand it again. Trigun is always a blast, as well as Neon genesis. Deadman wonderland is a bit messed up.

You could try Space Runaway Ideon, which was the inspiration for Evangellion.
