Which languages are useful to know?

In Canada, it's generally seen as best to know both English and French. You'll usually get a job easier, especially with the government, than those who know only English or only French. There's a good chunk of bilingual people here since French is mandatory in English-speaking public schools, though New Brunswick is the only truly bilingual province.

well yeah, for anime lovers, it is an irony that you won't bother study japanese at all... :| in my case, most of my favorite music is japanese (hirano aya, utada hikaru, yui, hatsune miku, and so on) so for me to understand the meaning of the song, i have to study the language

I have no interest learning Japanese anyway and I wouldn't want to only learn Japanese just because of anime and only because of anime.

To me japanese I really get tired at reading the subs at times. Or Spanish or French I need the credits for HS lol.

For me I feel like knowing English is good, but if you want high tech, you should learn Japanese (or at least learn it when Japan was still ahead of us with a lot of high tech stuff).
