    Default Canon T3

Does anyone have one? I am looking into a new camera, and it's the perfect price- cheap!
Can anyone show me some pictures they've taken with it?

I have no experience with canons whatsoever.
Ive only had sony and nikon so far.
Though I know from my ex-classmates (photography school)
... that the canon is a damn fine camera in overall.

You don't buy a system camera for the body, you buy it for the system - most notably for the glass (not because lighting and other accessories are of lesser importance - but because accessories like lighting are usually cross-compatible and not brand-specific). Asking if a Rebel T3 is a good camera is like asking if Michelin is a good car. It all depends on what you mount it on, or in this case mount on it. Any entry level DSLR body with entry-level kit glass is just as bad (or good, depending on what you're comparing to), but that hardly matters. It's only an entry point to build a system on.

If you were to ask me honestly I would say that 18-55mm EF-S kit lens is crap, but the T3 itself I would have no comment on because it hardly matters. I would have the same opinion on any equivalent Nikon, Sony, or Pentax DSLR or DSLT entry-level kit. Throw a good piece of EF-mount L glass on that T3 and it becomes a good camera. Leave it with the kit lens and it remains... you know.

Perhaps a better way to approach this would be to tell us what your requirements are for what you would like to photograph, or what kind of photographs you would like to be able to take. Or maybe if you're knowledgeable enough, what kind of glass you think you would like or need? Then we can better direct you into what kind of system, lenses, or other equipment will best suit your needs. Knowing your budget will also help a great deal, because any suggestion would most likely include a half-decent lens with some sort of body that's cheap enough to fit into the budget AFTER the purchase of said lens... not the other way around. Or maybe even lighting, support, etc., depending on what you state your needs are. Either way, you're going to have to budget for a lot more than just a body if you want a good camera system!
