Hello, I'm new.

Greetings.
This is Era or roarette, call me however you want. I decided to register since I've started missing being active on a forum as of late, no idea why.
I've been an anime fan for quite a while, but I took a break from it for a few years after having seen around a hundred series. Recently, I picked it up again. But nowadays, I don't have time to watch series anymore, so I just watch movies instead.
I am a huge Studio Ghibli and CoMix Wave fan. I crave beauty and the movies made by these two studios fulfill my thirst for eye candy. I am a dreamer.
Nonetheless, I hope I'll stick around as much as possible and fit in here.

Welcome to the forum ^_^ and there's always time for anime, even if it's just the occasional episode here and there. ;]

And, since you didn't specify, I shall ask the Obvious Question™: what anime do you like? ;] You stated some studios you like, but not any specific anime itself ;]

The avatar is from 5 cm per second, by the way, which has to be my favourite movie. I can't wait to be able to show my signature, too. ^^
Anyway, to answer your question. Hmm, well, when it comes to movies, I like: The Secret World of Arrietty, Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below, My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Tokyo Godfathers and more. Aaaand, among my favourite anime series, I can count: Arakawa: Under the Bridge, Lucky Star, NANA, Azumanga Daioh, Detroit Metal City, FLCL, Elfen Lied, Paranoia Agent, Serial Experiments Lain, Nodame Cantabile, Honey and Clover, etc.

Wow, what a beautiful list of movies you've got there. I'm also a HUGE fan of Studio Ghibli, and anything Miyazaki puts his hands on is absolutely stunning. I've actually never heard of 5cm per second, so I'll definitely have to check it out! Howl's Moving Castle is one of my favorites, as is My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. Cat Returns is super cute too.

Have you seen Grave of the Fireflies?

And you should definitely watch 5 cm per second, it is simply so beautiful, probably the most beautiful anime movie I've ever seen. Also, it has such a touching love story that it made me sob.

Oh gosh, and I'm a sucker for love stories too. I'll definitely have to look it up then, especially if it's as beautiful as you describe it to be. How did you come across it, by the way?

Weeell, a friend showed it to me right after it got released.
You should check out all the movies by Makoto Shinkai, really, there's not many of them, only four or so.
They say he's the new Miyazaki. ^^

Makoto Shinkai, I'll definitely look him up! His movies must be gorgeous if they're comparing him to Miyazaki. Is your signature a scene from one of Makoto Shinkai's movies?
