What do you think of all of the "Collection" re releases?

What do you think of all of the "Collection" re-releases? Such as Metal Gear Solid HD collection and Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection. Do you think the developers are just milking the series? or just giving to the fan base. What do you think and why?

Well i think it's a way to expose a series to an new audience who didn't grow up with whatever series of games. The main reason for me to buy the MGS HD Collection was to get MGS Peacewalker because i don't own a PSP.

It's an awesome idea, as the companies make money while also introducing the old games to entirely new audiences and reintroducing it to their fans in HD, as opposed to just milking the game series for its worth (a la Nintendo).

I also think it's a good idea. When I get money I'm getting the Prince of Persia collection and Ico+Shadow of the Colossus since I've never finished them.

I'm liking it. I can play old games that I don't own the system for on my Xbox now.

I'm sure part of it is trying to milk the old titles, but I'm happy about it because I can't play the old copies of some of these (metal gear solid collection, final fantasy X hd, and silent hill collection soon) otherwise since my ps3 isn't backwards compatible.

The only hd remake I care about is Devil May Cry 1-3.
Want to play the first DMC and the best DMC(nr. 3).

I agree with everyone; fantastic idea. I just bought a copy of Ico 6 months before its HD release; cost me an arm and a leg. Not only is it the same great story, just with upgraded graphics (and will work on my ps3 as Ragenomics pointed out), but it`s WAY cheaper then trying to hunt down a used PS2 copy floating around.

I got kinda mixed feelings about it..

On one hand, it's just to milk out more money for games already made (they just get some make-up)

But then again, it DOES give you the chance to maybe play a game in a series (or a whole series) you havn't played, and in better graphics (mostly, even though I don't mind if it ain't)
