...and I, myself, find the more complicated cosplay costumes more interesting. Not saying that those people didn't put time on their costumes but... its not epic like costumes that take people months or years to make...

I'm sorry, but I hate this argument either way, and here is some knowledge, straight up: People will dress up as characters they want. Sometimes they'll {word meaning one who engages in sexual acts for financial compensation has been redacted} it up, big time:

 

Other times you get some people who throw in a whole hell of a lot of effort:

But most of the time, people just want to dress up as their favorite characters, which can't be to blame. Intricate can still be sexy, case in point:

 

Let's face it, a very large proportion of popular anime characters are women who don't wear a lot of clothes. But many of the women who dress up as those characters simply go to these cons to be stared at and have their pictures taken.

I kind of derailed a bit, but my point is the, er, clothing optional idea is well received on all sides of the spectrum

Unfortunately that are still a lot of woman out there than think guys only will be interested for them (I don't even will use the word "love" 'cause unfortunately many just don't look for that kinda relationship) just because they're hot or are dress up like their clothes were too small for them!

More than that (because physicall atributes are something that you are born with and only and can't alter beyond some point) the personality is the most important!

People who can't even self respected theirselves can't respect anyone!
(I'm not criticising who posted this thread without giving her the chance to defend herselfe, so that stays clear)

Attractive women, but not sure I would classify as Cosplay, though new to the genre, so could be wrong. Not going to deny they are attractive, but they make me think more of booth babes than actual cosplay.

Will have to say, for what Cosplay I have seen, I prefer the intricate designs and such, means actual thought and time went into it.

They are not doing this to get guys. They are doing it for attention, and they sure got my attention :3
I know this because back in Fanime 2012, there was a black rock shooter that did not want to be touched despite having dat skimpy black rock shooter outfit. You can just feel the negative atmosphere around her. Granted, she is just one cosplayer but I think it's safe to assume that most of these girls are doing it for the attention. Heck, if I was a sexy chick, I'd do the same. Conventions are once a year anyway, might as well.
Besides, what sexy girl would want an average otaku dude like me? We are everywhere in every anime con.
And if there happens to be a handsome guy in one, he is most likely there with his gf.
