I just opened Wikipedia for a list of episodes, when once again, I see his ostentacious face. Hasn't he had enough?
It's like, there, bothering my reading.

Relax. He's just inspecting the very depths of your soul.

Don't donate money to Wikipedia. Never do it.
If it bothers you that much, don't use Wikipedia.
Derp.

@Ranshiin That "If you don't like it, get out" line doesn't cut it anymore. It can so easily apply to anything, and anything is not an option. He's not the only one behind Wiki, he didn't fill in all the articles, he didn't program the page (though now he's also using the programer's photo in another banner too) and he definetly doesn't need more money than he already has, even if a small part of it goes to extending Wiki's projects; it doesn't need to extend any further than the standalone site. He thinks he's on a power trip like Google and Facebook and on the brink of (fake) martyrdom like Steve Jobbs.
If you don't like my opinion, don't use this site.

Umm...no.
Let's see, despite your foaming-at-the-mouth rambling earlier about powertrips and martyrdom, I didn't even know who the this Jimmy person WAS until about 10 minutes ago. And despite the fact that you implied that you are seeing his face everywhere, I actually had to look him up.
All I can really do is shrug. What is your point? Okay, so Jimmy is asking people to donate to the site. You are aware that it runs on donations, right (or that the alternative is seeing soap commercials in every other article)? From what I can see, he's not the only staff member appealing to the public for money and those "personal appeals" can be easily avoided by not clicking on them (and after about 2-3 scrolls of the mouse, you can't even see them anymore).
And while he may not have been the only founder of Wikipedia, he is the only one of the original founders still WORKING with Wikipedia. Larry Sanger is the other founder, but he left 9 years ago and actually criticizes the site, so needless to say, he's not going to asking people for money to help with a project he is no longer a part of.
You have a couple of options. You can donate some money so that you don't have to see his face again (although, considering the fact that I didn't see his face on Wikipedia until I looked up an article on him, this might be pointless). Or you can simply ignore it since nobody is forcing you to do anything. Or you can do something about it, like complaining to the Wikimedia Foundation about his actions, because frankly, complaining about it here is going to get you nothing but a nice trip on the wahbulance.
This is my war face.
This is what happens to trolls who mess with me.

Umm...so? Like the end of the world is going to come due to his presence?

Point made...

I dont see the problem here either... They are like any other advertisement you would find at the top of the screen.. Seriously, would you like some french cries with your wahmburger
2 years ago I read the "personal appeal from Wikipedia founder what's-his-name" and donated $10 to it for all the papers it helped me write.
1 year ago I read the "personal appeal from Wikipedia founder what's-his-face" and donated $5 to it for providing me a safe and relatively fun website to surf at work.
This time, I read the "personal appeal from Wikipedia founder not-him-again" and donated $0 because my arithmetic pattern says after 10 and 5 comes 0.(now don't tell me it could be $2.5 also)

LITTLE JIMMY!
Don't see the problem with it though, it's just there, ignore it.
