    Question Wakare no Kyoku

Good evening. ^_^ I just had a random question in mind, that has been bothering me for a while:

Is the song Wakare no Kyoku from FullMetal Alchemist based off of a traditional tune? I faintly feel like I've heard it somewhere before....

It is essentially Chopin's Etude Op. 10 No. 3 named "Tristesse" without the middle part.

I love the orchestral arrangement of it that the FMA composer did, though.

    (It's actually of my bassoon!)

Oh, thank you so much. That's a beautiful recording of the song. ^_^ I agree, I love the FMA versions as well, piano and orchestral. I tend to cry by the end of trying to play it myself on the piano.
