Who is Tobi

Now it has been revealed that Tobi isin't Madara so who is he? I've got my own theory and I think that Tobi is Kagami Uchiha. Why do I think that, well when Tobi was fighting Konan, his mask broke and a part of his face could be seen

Has you can see, the eye shape is the same. The age would be acurate since Kagami was part of Danzo and Hiruzen's team in the first Shinobi world war making Kagami knowledgeable of Madara since he would have been around when Hashirama and Madara fought.

I am thinking he may be Obito (kakashi's friend when he was a kid who was crushed by a boulder), as that was a big theory before it was "revealed" he was Madara. But now that we know he isn't Madara I am kind of hoping more than believing that he is Obito since that would be pretty cool.

I think it is possible that the plant guys (I forgot his name. You know the guy who has half a body white and half a body black) found obito whenever he was crushed by the boulder and helped him out and did stuff.

i might agree with you. i also have a theory that Tobi might not even be an Uchiha all together. every Uchiha knows the fire jitsu, yet Tobi seems more earth base. aside from that, is it possible for Tobi to be the Sage's first son? as the Sage's son, i'm sure he knows some forbidden jitsu and may have survive all this time just to plan out his moon eye plan. who else would know more about the ten tails and the moon if not one of the Sage's son?? just theories though.

Masashi Kishimoto still has to join the trolling ranks of Tite Kubo (pretty self explanatory) and Hiro Mashima (time skip but not a time skip - then another time skip) so I'll bet Tobi will just be a random guy we never saw

I don't know which theories to support. ;o I like the idea that Tobi might be different people/bodies in some way but I REALLY want him to be Obito. Besides, he shares the time space jutsu Kakashi has. ;o

But as we see the Uchiha can evolve into a Rinnigan user, I see Sasuke doing this in the future, it's quite to say that Tobi is really an Uchiha, be it kagami, Obito, and hell Sasuke's Dad even, remember His mother and Father were 'away' during the attack of Kurama the night Minato and Kushina died. Speculation is awesome but also utterly pointless at this point. if i had to plant my money on an educated guess i'd go with Madara's younger brother. madara took one eye remember. Maybe he couldn't et to the level of his brother and so they made a plan out of hatred for the way the uchiha were treated. So his brother gave him an eye this in turn allowed him to reach the level of Rinnigan, and from there his brother created Akatsuki.

When Madara died his brother took his eyes and planted them in Nagato and Uzumaki, or however it's spelled, a decended of the Sage and guardians of his most powerful spells, his SEALS. After his body healed from aging, and help from Zetsu and Orochi, he back to full strength. However his brother never reached Rinnigan, seeing as he nevered used it, which I would have against the Yellow Flash, and took them from Nagato.

So my question is....How far does the Uzimaki clans power rise. They are obviously decends of the Sage body, seeing as only a Uzimaki can stand to hold not one but several tailed beast at once, in terms of charkra. Meaning I can bet the Uzimaki clan was the Sages clan, and both the Uchiha, and Hyuuga clans were formed, not to mention the first Hokage's clan. That's my guess. But that rises another question in my mind? How was naruto able to combined both Nature, Life, and Tailed beast Charkra. His senory level are now on a Omnipotence level, meaning he can sense all. This is not from the power of Kurama, proven by the seal on his stomach, how he locked Kurama away, and symbols on Super Saiyan level, and the fact in a way the Rinnigan is a Whirlpool design, they curve in and around. It's perplexing to say the least, but Naruto is the reincarnation of the Sage in every form. Plus is I remember right theres a chance the Sage hair was RED. meaning Uzimaki.

Guys i think when Kishimoto created a char called Tobi, he definately wanted it to b Madara but to give a twist in the story, he revealed Madara n now he is thinking wht he can do abt Tobi..!!! I think its Madara's bro Izuna....

On one last note about Obito, when he fights and kills Konan, YOU SEE BOTH SHARINGAN, he lost his left sharingan

Speaking truly I always didn't believe Tobi was Madara, first because he had no need for using a mask rather than for hiding is true identity (the fact that his face could have been sevearly hurt/transfigured due to his fight with Hashirama and that's why he used the mask never conviced me) and second when Kabuto showed him that coffin we couldn't see, I tought it had to be (the real) Madarara.

Anyways, that's an interesting theory, the eye shape is surely the same. For being honest I didn't remember any character on Naruto called Kagami until you said he was part of Danzo and Hiruzen's team and go read the magna chapter that shows that

I would personaly like that Tobi would be someone "more important", I mean, somobody bigger in the plot.

But I read a recent Kishimoto's interview to Famitsu (a popular video game japanese's magazine), in which he said [http://www.saiyanisland.com/2012/07/...urprises-left/] that "There are still quite a few [surprises]. Some characters who originally weren’t going to appear will come up again."

I'm not sure this were is exact words as I read this same interview in another website (portuguese) and it was slightly different as it stated Kishimoto had said something like:

"There are still quite a few surprises. One (while he says some in the link I added) character that nobody would ever suspected will turn out very important on the series", which make me think that could be the case of Tobi, of him being a character we already know but never gave much importance and so would be totally surprising (actually like being surprised by the plot even if that means my guessings were wrong xD) that he/she (though for the voice it's obviously a guy) was Tobi.

That can be true actually (it would explain why the masked guy who attacked Konoha in time of Naruto's birth and fought Minato had a different mask from the orange one we're used to see, which was already substituted by that new one as he gained Rinnegan), and it would be really interesting for the plot tough I believe all those three masks belong to the same person who DEFINETELY is...

That's it! That would be who I most wanted Tobi to be (even over Obito) and that he was going to fight the revived Madara for revenge, what an EPIC battle it would be

Yup, waiting this long sucks I think we'll get to know Tobi's true identity as Naruto defeats him in their current fight, but dunno how long will it still be.
Guess it would all depend whether Kishimoto will give full attention to Naruto/Bee/Hachibi/Kakashi/Guy vs Tobi or not.

I believe so, and therefore that Sasuke/revived Orochimaru/Suigetsu/Juugo will be delayed.

Being that the case I think in like 15 chapters we would get to know Tobi's identity, but even if it's only that it's still like almost 4 months, so it's a lot already xD

I feel the same as you guys, it would be great that Obito would be Tobi (though I still prefer it was Madara's supposedly death brother) but I have to admit that it doesn't make much sense that he is since, as @LukeC2510 said:

Though I don't really agree with the second point (since Madara losted one Sharingan and then gain a Rinnegan and also Danzou got some Sharingans on his own as well, even not being an Uchiha), the first point I support 1000% and I think this makes absolute sense so Obito should not be Tobi in my opinion.
