The chat, and how I screwed up.

Hey people, it's me, I haven't been around in a while, but I decided to come back a little to check it out. and I messed up, to my own sadness and amusement.

Alright, here's what happeneth.

#1: Get my first warning for saying a very light cuss word, fine, my own fault, and i shouldnt have. it was meant for a joke...
#2: my second warning for FULL CAPS, when we were singing... :/
#3: my third warning for playing russian roulette with a 9 win streak, then failing once, and warning!
#4: I wait it out for a bit, but it seems a few hours wasn't enough, get banned for 24 hours for playing russian roulette once more

from then on I did my best to not be a problem, I stayed around for 2 weeks, and then i went on a cruise in norway for 2 weeks. after that I kind of forgot about the forum, but now i'm back, yay!

but then,,,'

#5: just now, having forgot the rules, i went full caps, trying to say "OFF TO THE DINING TABLE!" and got my final warning, and being banned for-e-ver.

yeah. this chat is unforgiving... oh well, I guess it's kind of useless to stick around now, isn't it?

what i'm trying to say, is to all those who haven't failed yet, watch your steps. because the chat won't give you a second chance. it's evil like that. the bots suck.

Well, hey. I got banned the first time, and it said 24 hours. this time was the 5th time, and it's strike out! otherwise it'd just say 24 hours again, wouldn't it?

I'm just informing the community to watch out, that's all

Yeah, the ban is lifted at the chat reset, which takes place every night at midnight EST. You should be able to use is it fine tomorrow. The next infraction you receive will bring your warn level down to 1 and the warning-freeze-kick-ban process will start over.

EDIT: Just saw your previous post. When you try opening chat, I'm assuming it says "Your address has been banned. Try again later", correct?

(I would know, I've been banned plenty of times too. -_-)

The chat bots are incapable of permanently banning anyone. If you are constantly being banned by breaking the rules, then one of the chat admins will be notified, like Kaitou Ace. He can perma-ban you, but the bots like Shikamaru can't.

I'll break this down for you, so you understand everything that went wrong here.

Joking or not, language is language. With the exception of actual "light" cusses like hell or damn, it's pretty much a no-go.

First, all caps is sort of obnoxious. Second, "singing" in a chatroom is obnoxious - it's glorified flooding. We'll usually give verbal warnings for these, provided you don't set off the bots. Doing both at once? Learn some netiquette, my friend.

That was your own fault. It's Russian Roulette, there are penalties.

Warning levels don't go down; they reset once you've been banned. You shouldn't have been pushing your luck, anyway.

There is no "banned forever", unless Ace does so manually. There infractions work as follows:
Warning 1: Nothing.
Warning 2: Nothing.
Warning 3: One minute freeze.
Warning 4. Kick.
Warning 5. Ban until the next reset, a 24 hour maximum. Warning level resets to 0.
