New(ish) Guy Looking for good shows!

Anime Recommendations. Similar Shows?



I like something that has a bit of everything. I Just finished Full Metal Panic and loved how it managed to combine action, drama, great character development and comedy! I mean, damn this ones funny! Its one of the few that made me not just smile, i actually laughed out loud! But i als like the romantic element that exists between the characters. It really is an all around pleaser this show.
But my favorite by far (yet strangely not my taste at all), was Spice And Wolf. Few shows have as witty schemes as this one. Its a laugh, its smart, its interesting, its somehow a bit sexy, and its actualy a little hard to follow at times. And i like that. You find yourself getting so engreossed into the emotions that exist between the chracters, that you'll start getting mad at them for the things they someties do! Many animes tend to be too simple for my taste and therfore do not affect me in such a way.
So please, i am asking for the knowledge of the people of this forum to tell me about some shows that you think i'd like.

Mushishi is similar to Spice and Wolf in the adventure/travelling style.
There is also Welcome to the NHK! and Bakemonogatari in that the romance and interaction between the protagonists provide a lot of laughs due to the interesting personalities of each character.
In regards to Full Metal Panic!, give a try to Kaze no Stigma. I know they aren't very similar but they have similar feels.

I did. Fumoffu was bloody hilarious! Favorite part was when he trained the Rugby players. it reminded me so much of boot camp

Welcome to AF. Like the avatar, and a FMP fan is great to have around. lol Appleseed is pretty good, plus Ghost in the Shell. Loved Spice and Wolf because it's different than from most animes out there.

You seem like someone that would love Black Lagoon, it is by far one of the best action series within the anime universe

ok well if ya already checked out fumoffu.....hmmm...maybe...

Cowboy Bebop. it's great for anime newcomers, and it has a little of everything. action/comedy/drama/suspense.
also might want to look into Outlaw Star.

i've seen bits and parts of Cowboy Bebop but never actually all of it. I'll check if its available on Netflix Instant Play. if not, i'll just have to buy it haha
