believe it or not, they were more of a rubber/chewy texture. the texture was the only complaint i had. the flavor was AWESOME, but it was a tad to chewy.
i thought it was gonna be "squishy" too, and that was what freaked me out at first.
i was thinking it was gonna like explode in my mouth when i bit into it.

The taste is awesome? Now I have never eated octopus but... it looks like chewing on a tire. :/ Even if you say octopus taste awesome I would never be able to try it.... hm.. atleast not the raw kind. And even if people are talking about deep fried ones, I just never can get the image of the raw ones out of my head... When I see videos of peoples eating raw and (living) octupus it just feels like my stomach will twist. Just swallow something that is still moving and trying to escape.. uuyyeeaaaw.
Have you ever eated those living octupus before? Does they taste like the deep fried ones?
Hahahah, don't hate me for it! xD It's just eating octupus is so far away from my own food culture that it just is so far away from my own weekday. What do we have here? Meatballs? Not that exotic.

So delish.
chicken hearts, and snails.
I ate alligator once. It was pretty good, if a little chewy. But boudain and crawfish are both pretty strange... and tasty. >w>" I really liked cheddar flavored crickets and I ate a banana flavored sucker once that had a scorpian in the middle but I only ate one of the legs. It wasn't very tasty at all. :/
samba bamba, llama momma.
need a new set, feel free to offer. :3
Those poor Octopi ;_;
I've never eaten anything "Obscure" but my mom has had squid, she described it just the way Eris did xD

Squid and Octopus are normal o_o But I don't like baby octopus, especially in the red dressing they prepare it with at Japanese restaurants here...sausage octopi are fine, though. :3

What about birds nest soup? Anyone tried it? When I was in Thailand I saw some people collecting the birds nests for it. I wonder what it would taste like.
O_O
Maybe like wood and feathers?
I have no idea, but there can't be so much more in birdnests or is there? Havn't the meat, litteraly, flown away?
Anyone from Thailand who can inform us about this?
... Now I am curious...
I know of bread that is made out of 'bark' (don't know the english word for it, but you know the membrane on trees),
but I doubt that they taste the same. There is a difference between soup and bread. ^_^
Arn't there supposed to be more things in a soup? Maybe the bird nests are just giving the basic flavour?

I Once attempted to eat the illegal danish. but just gazing upon its goodness gave me god-like powers!
no one can eat the real illegal danish! we must protect it with our lives!
I've encountered these through media: Frogs in pastries and dogs. Yes, some people in my country eat dogs. IDKY.
Well, I've never really encountered anything special. I just dipped a banana in soy sauce mixed with Chinese Orange (or Calamansi) and it tasted good.
