He was a bad man but I feel sorry about the way he died. It is not yet comfirmed but I betcha that he executed. Then the pictures of his smoked body all over the news and internet?
Though, in a way, he deserved it.
I feel a little bad for him too but... he killed a lot of people. Libyans must be really happy right now though, cheers Libya! You all are finally free from this terror.

Well, they killed almost all his sons too. That is too much! Why they wish to wipe out his whole family in less than a few months?
and people saying it was the "rebels" that killed him, but who supported those "rebels"? That's right, Britain/UN, and lets not forget Britainb has brutal history with colonialism.
You seem to be under the idea that the UN constitutes only America and Britain, but its not. It involves EVERY COUNTRY of the world, and this time around, America and Britain (and Italy, France, among others) were given permission to help the rebels.
It should also be worth remembering that this entire revolution was in no way a foreign thing, it was oppressed people rising against a tyrant, end of story.
I guess something that has united in it such as united nations must only be exclusive to united states and united kingdom. To some people :|
Hun... Even the americans hate the bush administration..And he isn't even around.-shrugs-
exactly, most hate Bush administration due to Iraq, and as we know, most include Libya war in discussions with Iraq war, so America is considered at fault for both as well as Britain and those others like France, Italy etc...
Still, as I mentioned before in post #9 people always complaints about America, all the time. If America steps in somewhere people complain, but if America wouldn't step in then people would still complain.
As seen in this comicform
Next time something happens, what would you like to happen? Would you only want all the countries around just to stand around and watch without doing anything, even if the population in that certain country suffers a great deal? I just want to know what it's that you want.
Season four of Sherlock
The new Hobbit movie
Season five of Game of Thrones
New episodes of Downton Abbey
From studying history you will see that leaders who oppress their citizens will always crumble, leaders who accept and bend over to the citizenry will last for hundreds of years like the roman empire
Its a very tricky line, foreign policy.
But don't feel bad. An alarming number of supposed christians make this mistake too.
I agree with Manhattan, I mean he was responsible for a lot of deaths so I really see no reason why his singular death is anything less than fair for the 200+ he took. The reason people think it's unfair that he died probably think that because you know a lot about him or could. If you were to know any one of the people who's death he was responsible for, I'm sure you would think quite differently. I'm not saying that I'm praising the fact that he died, I'm just saying I really see absolutely no reason why this should be seen as a bad thing, or feel like his death was undeserved.
rape also? lawl
Also, God does not rejoice in the death of a sinner.
If one of Michelangelo's masterpieces were destroyed, would anyone celebrate?
If one of the Great Pyramids collapsed, would someone celebrate?
Yet when one of God's masterpieces -- his most cherished creations -- appears to collapse,
would we celebrate it...in front of God?
God has absolutely NO desire to see any of His children lost forever. The loss of a child is
devastating -- ask any human parent who has lost their own!! The loss of a soul made in the
image and likeness of God is a sad, mournful thing.
Deliberate hatred is contrary to charity. Hatred of the person is a sin when one deliberately wishes
him/her evil. Hatred of the person is a grave sin when one deliberately desires him/her grave harm. "But
I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons and
daughters of your Father who is in heaven."
God created us in his image, well are you happy when you seek revenge on your own children?

Oh gawd.. I feel like I'm in church on an anime forum ._____________.
In Iraq, Bush accepted flimsy evidence as proof that Iraq was working on WMDs, and invaded a country based on it. As a result, it lead to the dethronement and eventual trial of the leader of said country, who if nothing else was a [jerk] of the first order.
In Libya, Libyans didn't like their leader, who was a [jerk] of the first order and started protesting, emboldened by the success of Egypt protests. Gaddafi, being a [jerk], countered these protests with violence. The rebels had, and have, plenty of badly armed and trained militia, but they were getting slaughtered by the Libyan's army, which was fairly good by third world standards. Now the world had a choice, either sit on the sidelines and watch Gaddafi bomb his own people into the stone age rather then make some half-hearted concessions or do something. The UN then did something, because American explicitly refused to invade Libya on it's own, because it's something we shouldn't do. Not that many folks in the UN had objections when we announced we were invading Iraq. But I guess you'd be happier if we all just stayed in our own backyard and the first world watched Gaddafi kill hundreds of thousands of people to quell the rebellion while we sit around wearing monocles and eating caviar.

the us had no ground troops in libya we just assisted the un in air strikes to soften up the gaddafi forces for the rebels but all and all us response to libya was very very small we as a country are too busy in afghanastan and iraq to get involved in libya's dispute
If history repeats itself, and moves in a circular path, then believing that whatever force is turning it is perfect, is all we can do as we move ahead. Pushed along by forces beyond our control, waiting, for the blade to be swung.

No, I don't feel sorry for the guy at all. If he had actually respected the people that he was "leader" of, he may have been seen as quirky and eccentric instead of a villain. Instead, he chose to authorize/ignore when all of the rape, murder, and pillaging was going on in the country. I do feel sorry for the people of Libya now as they have to pick up the pieces and try to form some sort of harmony. Ghaddafi the man may be dead, but his policies and ideas still live on in those who were on his side, much like what has been going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. It will not be easy and I wish them all the luck in the world.
As for why his own fellow American's dislike Bush, that is a long list. Yes he pushed for a war using very little, if any, evidence, whatever his real reasons may have been... But he also had a big hand in screwing over the economy. He supported tax breaks that should been allowed to expire and pushed "No Child Left Behind". There is gobs of other things, but I don't feel like getting too riled up right now...
There is barely anything in the Bible that can't be contradicted elsewhere. Even things like abortion and divorce have mixed messages from the Bible. Needless to say, despite some of Jesus' pacifistic messages, Jesus does advocate violence at some points in the New Testament (Matthew 22: 12-13) and some little demons are surprised that they haven't been tortured by him yet, since he did it before (Matthew 18:29).
You have valid religious views and we could argue about the Bible all day, blah blah blah, whatever. Now that that's over, we can get back to talking about Gaddafi, Gadhafi, Kaddafy, Kaddafi, however people are spelling it today.
