What is your favorite pastry/dessert?

Mine would have to definitely be either cheesecake (topped with strawberries) or brownies a la mode XD.

The only wrong thing I see with sweets are the cavities that so often seem to come with them D:

If there is a pastry that I hate, it would be chocolate cheesecake, because that just don't agree with me XD.

Also, I would like to edit this thread a little ang going back to talk about my previous posts. I said before that my favorite was strawberry cake, but now after been thinking about this for awhile I have changed my mind. Strawberry cake is one of my favorites, yes, but not on the number one place....


My favorite dessert is: Ostkaka

The translation on ostkaka to english is cheese (ost) cake (kaka) : cheesekake. BUT I choosed to write the swedish name instead because ostkaka and the cheesekake that you normally think of isn't the same! Far, far, far from! "Normal" cheesecake is thumbs down [my taste], but our swedish cheesecake is yum yum yum! <3

This is our swedish ostkaka, and it's the best thing that I know of.
Warm ostkaka with some strawberry jam on it..... hmmm! <3 I think I will melt of love!

Also, for everyone who is curious I ran across this why searching the web for ostkaka: (OOS-tah-kah-kah). It was a woman in the US who wrote down a recipe for the cake on the internet and (OOS-tah-kah-kah) seems to be the way on how to say it for you who doesn't speak swedish... so there you go, all you non-swedish people: the swedish lesson of today is how to pronunce ostkaka = (OOS-tah-kah-kah).

It's a bit more savory than anything, but I enjoy Cha siu baau. These little glazed, baked (steamed are the fluffier, white ones) buns usually filled with a sweet mixture of barbecued pork. So delicious.



I'm also a big fan of egg tarts. The difference between a bad and good egg tart is something you got to taste. Not your typical takeout ones for sure.



And since I'm on a Southeastern Asian pastry/baked goods roll, let me go ahead and throw banh cam in there. Crispy fried doughy exterior covered in sesame seeds, filled with a sweet mung bean type filling. Really really good when they're still warm and you get that crunch.
