What's your favorite OS and why?
I like Windows...

The Operating Systems by Windows were the only ones I have ever used so they are my favorite. Out of all the windows Vista is my favorite since it hasn't really given me any problems.
I'm going to start using Linux in my work laptop soon though because everyone in my course uses it so all of the lectures are on Linux

I guess Windows, since it's the only OS I've ever owned. My old high school ran mostly Macs, but I wasn't too big a fan of it and had already gotten used to the Windows interface long before using a Mac. Still though, Windows 7 isn't all that great.

Windows.
My favorite OS has to be Linux. Because of it's customization, security, and the fact that it's free and open source. I like knowing that there isn't a big company watching everything I type. Windows would be my second favorite. I just don't like all the viruses/malware it gets, and I hate how micro$oft has a backdoor on it, and spies on what you and what you type. I also don't like how it's closed source. Mac would be my least favorite because it's even less closed sourced then windows, and even more expensive.
Kubuntu for life!
Mac OS ftw!

Hmmm... Been a whileSit back some time and simply ask yourself, [Link]->"Do you even lift, bro?"<-[Link]
Windows is the best, 2nd would be Linux, and Mac would be last
nix distros 4 lyfe
Vista hasn't given you any problems? Windows 7 isn't all that great? what is this i dont even
o_o
/not_cereal I suppose Windows 7, mainly because it's what I primarily use and it's not exactly a pain in the butt or anything. On the other hand, having been fiddling with Linux as of late I've started to see the advantages and I'd have to rate that fairly high as well.
Bleh to Mac though. Apple OS for the fail.

Windows 7, I love the Mac-style dock at the bottom.
MacOS is alright, I like it for photo/video editing.
Linux I could never figure out. =/

I've used windows most of my life, but at my school we used macs. I liked Macintosh a little bit (it's only good for graphics stuff, and even then...), but Windows XP was by far my most favorite operating system ever.
Nothing that worked on XP (a.k.a. a ton of stuff) worked on Vista :|

I use both for different reasons. I have windows on my toshiba and obviously MAC OS on my Macbook pro. Two function differently but do what I like.
Personally I like my windows XP. I've had it for years. It's simple and to the point of being easy to navigate. Mac gives me a little problem here and there but it has more advanced features than windows does.

...Linux for my laptop and Windows for my desktop...
It is not MAC OS or Mac OS. It is Mac OS X and it is my favorite.
I'm running on Windows XP on this computer I haven't had used an Apple Computer that I owned since...7-8 years ago :P Back when it was Mac OS 9 and got it upgraded to Mac OS X But I still prefer Windows over Mac, even though there's more versatility in Apple when it comes to opening programs, but when I try to find files, it tends to be painful to me for some reason...

Windows! It's fast, you can download any software/programs, it's easy to fix and easy to use.
I had a Mac desktop before but sold it because it was slow.
In terms of graphics, iMac is better than windows but in terms of operations and speed etc, Window is the best. I've never tried Linux... `_` not interested to it.

Windows, because I like to use my gaming PC to play games.
Ehhh, I dunno if I'll stick around. We'll see.

It's OK to use the abbreviation "PC" to refer to a certain kind of computer hardware, but please don't use it with the implication that the computer is running Microsoft Windows. If you install GNU/Linux on the same computer, it is still a PC.
The term "WC" has been suggested for a computer running Windows.
And Apple computers are also computers that are generally personal. It's another parlance issue, because of the market share of the Windows PC, people commonly shorthand it to PC; if the Linux PC became popular enough to break 10% market saturation, which even all distros combined haven't broken, then common parlance will welcome the distinction between PCs running a Windows distribution and those running a Linux, sorry, NT/Windows and GNU/Linux, OS.
So, just to complete my thought, promoting the learning via experience of non-commonly-used-by-consumer OSes would be far more conductive than simply nitpicking over parlance and semantics.
Anyways, the three common personal computing OSes have advantages and disadvantages. Windows still has the 80% market share, so there's a lot of third party support. OSX is nice to use, but annoying in some advanced cases. The *nix distros have the flexibility I do like (there is something endearing about just being able to drop to terminal and fix stuff) but with the limited market share, poor marketing, and existence of Richard Stallman, third party (consumer) support is bad. That said, the fact that you can literally build a distro from kernel up if you so desire is a powerful thing, and I'm a sucker for customization.
Yeah, because trying to get a current gen game to run on Linux via Wine is a good use of my time. At least you could have said dual boot, and then I would have replied that I need Windows for school and the only other thing I use my PC for is Interwebonets and there's no good reason to boot into Linux for that.
