Yeah, I couldn't sleep because our deaf neighbor and his girlfriend go at it every night past 2 in the morning. It's a bunch of loud banging noises, gasping and moaning, and the occasional sounds of a piece of furniture hitting the floor. But, this was during the period he moved in and lasted quite a while. Now, it's the theater lights and stupid druggies and stupid people yelling in the middle of the night that keep me up.

Oh dear, poor you
Few weeks ago about 3am, I heard a weird humming noise. I was freaked out because I didnt know what it was. But then I found out It was only my bros computer. Since my bedroom is just below his the noise sounded louder then normal.
Now I think a heard a weird noise from outside a few times. Like a constant sound of passing plane or something. Apparently this unexplained noise is called
"The Hum"
Once I was sleeping comfortably [well not really] in my new dorm.. It was my first night there and it's apparently haunted. Well I hung my favorite picture on the wall beside my bed.. But sure enough about 12 or 1 I hear a loud crash.. It terrified me and I looked around and even checked the halls to see if anyone else peered outside their rooms. But nope. As I turn back to my bed and get situated under my covers I notice large pieces of glass on my sheets and was like "oh crap" and looked in the small opening beween the wall and my bed and there was my picture frame shattered :[
I'm still amazed at how pieces of glass ended up on my bed. My bed was a good 2-3 feet tall and the gap between the bed and the wall was only a few inches...

I experience Sleep Paralysis time to time.. Kinda scary, Feels like someone is holding you down. I can open my eyes but I can't talk, move.. nothing.
After a few minutes I'll drift off and wake fully back up suddenly.

I had recently moved some boxes filled with books, clothes, and dvds into a store room in the house Im renting. And 3 days later, as I was sleeping I woke up to the sound of things being town around in that room. I called a pest/animal control specialist to see if it may have been a raccoon or something. The guy was pretty cool when he showed up, and was in the store room for 6 mins. until he came out pale...he said there are no raccoons but stuff had definitely been tossed around. And there's something in there. He kept seeing shadows move and whispering.
My dad's snoring. Dear god, you'd think someone was taking a jackhammer to our walls.

Lmao @ The Hum and snoring xD.
Every single day in my oh so lovely townhouse, I hear at least one really loud crash that sounds like it came from my room. So I go upstairs, look around, see nothing and then come downstairs. Sometimes I hear like weird whispery voices, and once, I swear that I seen some guy walk out of my room O_o;. There are a few mysterious red stains on my bedroom walls, but I don't want to even think about what they could be O_O;;. That, and the last tenant was mysteriously "evicted"
*Twilight Zone theme plays*
EDIT: I forgot, but sometimes it looks like there's someone's face pressed to my bedroom window, but when I get up, it vanishes O.o. Good thing I'm moving, lol

Have you considered that some of these things are natural occurrences, before considering them otherwise? :P Sometimes your imagination can get the best of you too. if you think, "Oh my God, ghosts, voices, and apparitions!" then that's what you'll see. However, only abstractly. You can say I'm wrong, because I've never had these kinds of experiences.

xD Lol it probably is my imagination, sometimes. I was a real ghost story fan when I was little, lol. That banging always happens, though. It's probably my psycho neighbor, lol xD
If you want to hear a real ghost story, my mom has one. Apparently, a few years after my grandmother died, she woke up and found grandma by her bed. They conducted an entire conversation right there! I was asleep in the same room, so that sucked, lol. I don't really remember much of my grandmother, she died when I was 4. I wonder if I'll get one of these spirit messages someday xD?

That would be nice. I never knew my grandfather (father's side), I think he died about 3 years before I was born. The weird part is that my dad never knew his grandfather either.
But, yeah, my psycho neighbor is most likely the cause of that banging. She banged on my wall all crazily this one day, then starts ringing my doorbell all crazy, so I open the door, and she's yapping about me playing music so loud that the walls are shaking, when in fact, I wasn't playing any music. I think someone needs a dose of Ritalin, if you ask me.
Weirdly for me when things start making noises, when someone knocks everything goes silent
You have the shy ghosts, lol

That, or whip out a machine gun and start making noises that I might worry about.
Got a couple of spooky things for you. I grew up in a house that is going on 95 years old now, and houses that old do quite a bit of creaking, often times of their own accord. You just get used to that sort of thing. But when I was like 13 (over 10 yrs ago...) I was in my room and heard the stairs creaking just like they do when someone walks up them, so I turned to the doorway to see who it was (I shared a room with one of my sisters then). What I saw was a teenage boy standing in the doorway. He wore modern cloths -- button down dress shirt, khaki pants and Doc Martins. The only thing wrong with the whole thing, was that he was transparent enough for me to see the paneling of the door through him! All I could do was just sit and stare at him thinking am I really seeing this?! Then like 30 seconds later, I blinked and he was gone. No one in my family believed me, they all accused me of dreaming it. :S It was the middle of the day, and I was not even drowsy.
Then there were a few times when I had felt this over-whelming presence in that same house. I could only sense it at night and around the time whenever a cat on our place would die (house cat or the sociable barn cat). It would just linger in the darkness of the house, and it felt like it would stare at me. Anytime I would walk through an unlit room at night, it would feel like it was following not far behind me, and even the floor would creak like someone was walking behind me. Only light and our other house cats would keep it at bay. It was very eery once when my one cat was sitting on my lap when I was on the computer one night, and just stare through the dark living room to the hallway connected to it. I could feel that thing look back at us shift back and forth, like it was waiting. It even followed me to my in-laws house once! I haven't felt that thing for a long time, and I'm very glad of it. If I ever meet up with it again, it will be too soon.
Now my dog on the other hand, is a bit of a fruit-cake. She's scared of the dark, so when I take her out at night she barks. Whether something made a noise or not, whether a shadow moved or not. When that happens, she gets all the other dogs on the place riled up, and they start barking, then she barks back. Annoying cycle. They other night though, she was barking at her echo. That was kind of funny.

I was once awoken by a little girl's playful laughter in my apartment. I later found out that a young girl died in her sleep in my apartment in my house number. She was about three when she died of unknown causes about 30 years ago. Creepy but I don't feel threatened by it.
When we went on a vacation and we finally arrived at our hotel, I fell asleep, woke up to go to the bathroom and went back to bed...a few seconds later I heard the strangest sound ever. It was my dad snoring and oh my god it was loud and then it changed and not only was if loud but it sounded painful. I lay in bed listening to that for a good while because I just couldn't imagine someone snoring like that.
Other then that our house creaks at night...a lot.
