Bullies Version 2.0

Last year I asked the same question, so I decided I'll reask it since we have many new users since then.

Question: In all honesty, have YOU ever bullied anyone? If so, what was it for?

Question 2: Have you ever beeh bullied? If so, why?

My answers:

1: Yes, once. Because at the time I wanted to fit in.. Major regret now.

2: Yes, several times. Mostly because I like pokemon.

1. No, I'm not that sort of person that likes to prey on people like that. I'm way too shy and kind to be a bully.

2. I don't know if this counts as being bullied but I've been called names before when I was younger. But they never tried to beat me up or anything like that.

2, Because I'm Hispanic. I obviously fought back though...But I hated it, ended up suspended.

1. Yes. It was in high school JROTC, and we tried to get him to participate and contribute to the class, but he didn't want to make friends, he just wanted to prove how "1337 kung-fu" he was, so after he tried to break my arm (and failed miserably), we all bullied him until he ended up getting in a fight and transferred out of the class. Don't regret it one bit.

2. Yes. Mostly in elementary and middle school. In grade school I was short and extremely thin. In middle school I was short and really overweight. That and I had a hard time standing up for myself, so I was an easy target cause people could easily walk over me, (quite literally sometimes)

1; No. As much as possible I want to be in good terms with people. I can't stand bullies at all, why should I be someone that is cruel? No... just no.
2; I've been bullied only because I didn't talk, I liked things no one really liked, and I was a different race. It wasn't teasing but more of continuous insults and mistreatment by others. It stopped around middle school, and the bullying stopped when I killed them with kindness.

1)sorta.....i bullied the bullies. so i don't know how you would classify that.

1) not really, i was always bigger and stronger than most growing up. i was 5'10" and 180lbs in sixth grade, so bullies stayed away (they tend to pray on the weak). everyone thought i was going to be a giant, but after i hit 6'1" i suddenly stopped growing.
and by the time the bullies started to catch up to me in size, they still seemed to stay away for the most part (probably because i used to bully them lol).

1. Yeah, I hazed someone in my company, well actually a couple of us did.

2. Yeah, when I was in, middle school and high school. Mostly because I was very quiet and chubby. Never Physical just verbal. I was a loner for most of my life. Meh, 6 years later, I joined the, Marines. Now I don't get picked on as much. Err.. At all.

1. Yes. My former good friend. The sad thing is... he is Asian as well. I regret it because he no longer talks to me... or anyone else.

2. Yes. Throughout my grade school years, I was picked on. I wasn't bullied much. It was more like I was retaliating and tried to stick up for myself.

1. Not really least not in person. I mean I accidentally "bullied" people online. If you consider telling them the truth about how annoying they are or how much of a dbag they are and they running away crying = bulling.. then yeah I've done that.

2. Despite my height and my odd looks I've never been bullied. People know not to screw with me even though I'm quiet and don't say or do much... Though there was this one time I got slammed into my locker by this group of retarded black girls. I hate the word retarded but it suits this group of girls. They were loud and obnoxious and were the outcast of the black group at my school [my school is like 95% white so the blacks had a cool tight knit group] yeah they were not in said group. :| I disliked their constant hootin and hollarin' in the hallway and at lunch. Stupid girls. But yeah that was it. Since they are stupid I didn't consider it bullying.

Well I used to bully some of my bullies back in the day. They bullied me for so long, I got used to it. Hell If there was a day I wasn't feeling bullied, I'd go asking for it real bad. I usually liked picking on the fattest one of their group; going up behind him and kicking him in the shins or punching him in the head and then running like mad up the stairs (he'd usually give up after two floors).
Heh, stupid fat bullies.

1. No and i would never do it.

2. Yes since i was quiet nerdy guy and wasn't like everyone else. I've been sent to the hospital a few times because some of the bullies were in street gangs and decided to jump me a few times. I was cut several times and stabbed once. I still have some the scars on my arms and legs. One time in my first high school year some dirtbag put a pistol at the back of my head and threatened to kill me, while everyone else(including an undercover Detroit cop) just looked. At least i'm still alive.

No. Not systematically anyway. I've been a douche though.

Yes. Not in the years-of-therapy sense of the word, but a few semesters. Why? Because hormones bring out the worst qualities in teenagers.

You'd think that by the time people reach the 12th grade, they'd wise up and grow up. Those people must be jealous of you, or something. It's a good thing you yourself stopped the bullying.

I think people stopped bullying me when I started learning martial arts :P

Sadly even adults can be bullies, which is why even sometimes 12th graders bully others for enjoyment.

You may be approaching legal adulthood when you're in the 12th grade, but you're still some way away from emotional adulthood.

1.Surprisingly no. I knew people didn't like but but they just didn't talk to me/ignored me. I wonder if it was the kind of friends I had though, they they didn't want to mess with me because they might be messing with my friends as well.

True, but not in all cases. Wouldn't you say some folks mature at different ages than others? Like, a fourteen year old could be as mature as a twenty six year old, and vice versa.

True, but that 12 year age gap still makes a difference IMO. Experience wise, and psychologically. Besides, when I was 14, EVERYONE my age was far from mature. It took a twenty some year old teacher to show us just how immature we were compared to him. In fact, I have never encountered a 14 year old who is more mature than they should be, without having childish tendencies attached.

If by bully you mean to belittle another person for any reason, then yes. If you're asking as to whether or not I've went out of my way to make someone else feel like crap, then the answer is no.

Yes, I've been called names, jumped, been given noogies, swirlies, "why are you hitting yourself", etc. I don't ask for sympathy, nor empathy. I just pick myself up, realize I'm better than they are, go home and stick my nose into Gray's Anatomy, knowing I'm better off just shrugging it off than crying over it.

Now understand I'm a very sociable person- I also choose my friends wisely, and I stay away from the drama that is high school. Bullying is taken too serious by some, and too lightly by others. People need to understand that yes, people are bullied with name calling. But, those being beaten and bruised and crying in the bathroom during third period are among fewer, and surprisingly among those who nobody cares for. But since this is an issue that everyone is a bit cutthroat about, I'm going to be the liberal who skirts the issues and never addresses what she thinks.

(I'm not in the mood to be opinionated right now, hence the liberal stance. Although that's a strong opin- never mind.)

2) Yes. On and off through elementary and middle school. I ran into on of my elementary school tormentors when we were in middle school, and he apologized to me. There were two in middle school. I'm not sure why they bullied me. No one ever tried to take my lunch money or anything, it was just the usual harrassment. One of them was in Tae Kwon Do, supposedly. I was too, at the time, though I never told him till it was too late. They made 6th and 7th grade miserable for me. One day, the karate-kid decided to fight me. Allegedly he was two levels higher than me [red vs blue] but I still hadn't told him. He did not go to my TKD school. My instructor there told me that I should not back down from him and should use what I learned to defend myself. The kid, his name was David, took his fighting stance and said he was going to beat my arse. It turned out that I was faster and stronger than him, and mopped the floor with him. He thought that because I was a pudgy kid who liked Sega games, that I would be a pushover, I guess. I actually took my TKD lessons somewhat seriously, and really enjoyed my classes. I wish I could have continued, but I moved away.

I got into trouble at school for fighting, but my parents and my TKD instructor called the school to explain the situation. I did not get suspended or disciplined. Neither of them bothered me again after that, but I moved to a new school for 8th grade. No problems there. Or in high school.

I beat that kid and stopped being afraid to stand up for myself. It helped that in high school I had a lot of friends, whereas I did not when I was younger.

I was in plenty of fights growing up, but I never started any of them. I was always a pudgy nerdy kid.

I never bully anyone. I try to be a friend.

But yeah. I'm bullied like every day. I'm the one everyone makes fun of at school. Dressing like a goth, being a comic book/anime freak, and being slightly overweight with glasses and a 4.0 GPA doesn't go ovewr well with peers.....I'm a bunch of unpopular groups rolled in one....

Eh, the only thing I found belts good for are to hold your pants up lol. it doesn't matter what color belt you are, if you're better than a person at something, then you're better than them at that something. I have a "black belt" myself. I wear it every day. It does a great job of holding my jeans up

Anyways, it's good you used your skills to defend yourself. That David guy sounds like an uncultured, stage 1 martial artist to me, if he was using his skills to bully you.

I was lucky enough not to bullied in school, I pretty much got along with everyone.. I do though have a split group of friends who except my lifestyle.. Liking to play games, watch anime, read manga and collect all of the above.. Then I have others that like to constantly give me crap for it.. S: This dosent happen too often, so I'm able to shrug it off..
