Facebook and its Update.

As I'm sure we're all aware(either from seeing it first hand or hearing about it from the bazillion pissed off users), Facebook updated sometime last night. What do you think about the update? What do the reaction to the update means to the social networking giant?

It havn't come to me yet but alot of my friends has gotten it, and they hate it! I really don't want to have it either but I'll guess it's just a matter of time. Since I havn't gotten it yet I really don't know exactly what it is, but from what I have heard you can only see the "topnews" now right? Or am I wrong?


Maybe you could tell me little more what this update is?

I like it but it just seems to me that FB is trying to be more like Google+ and trying to surpass, FB will suffer the same fate Myspace did. :|

What does this new update do? What is the difference between this and the old one?

There's now a window on the top right corner that updates your friends' every action real-time...

It added a real time updating little module in the top right corner that shows everything your friends do (likes, comments, pics, shares, etc) and instead of showing updates in your newsfeed chronologically, it's based on a "smart" system that shows what Facebook thinks you'll find most interesting. It also marks them with a blue corner or some crap. You can hone it to a certain point by marking stuff as "top".

I wasn't super happy fun time about the changes, but it took all of...overnight to get over it. There was the same dramatic response when the interface was changed to the "new" one everyone's missing now. The only thing I'm still annoyed at is the chat bar change a few months ago.

It doesn't bother me. However, it seems to have bothered quite a few of my FB friends.

OMG! I have it now. It is so annoying. I think all it does is give it a cluttered feeling. Besides, it is annoying that when I try to read something, my attention gets caught by that module and then I'm at total loss with what I was reading.

It's not too different so I have no complaints. There are some more stalking tools available now, but oh well.

Doesn't bother me, though it is a bit ridiculous to have a Facebook news feed on top of your Facebook news feed.

It's Ok but it really does give a clustered feel to it. To be honest, I'm more annoyed by annoying pop-ups saying this is what we updated, and this, and this, and this than the actual update. I'd bet in a months time people will just get used to it and stop complaining

Well... it's not as bad as the gawker blogs update [gizmodo mostly for me], I kinda use both fb and g+ right now, so we'll see, but the update is just sorta annoying, and I imagine I'll get used to it.

Its Facebook. In three weeks, you'll all be using it with no problems and like nothing ever happened. Stop this whining! You're not even obligated to USE it! I have a Facebook to keep in touch with friends from North Carolina. I don't cry because Mark Zuckerberg decided to make a change. Does it really affect everyone so much that we must all run around in hysterics because a website changed its layout again? Come on people. Stop this crazy whining and grow up. If you don't like Facebook, do what you did to MySpace and leave it as a memory. Gah!
