OH dear, I don't know if I should...
YES I SHOULD! =D

Also, I need to get this out of my system: Pokémon > Digimon =P
Okay, I think this is a bit too early for my routine image war in Wolf lol.
I'll save that for between when the signup closes and the when the first phase ends. =P
Amber, you rock.
Perhaps I should have elaborated on what I meant. With the roles given and the way players here in general have played in the past, PMing has actually seemed to get people further, especially when a good Seer steps up. I was contemplating no outside communication at all as well as some of the other things in the Wolf group, but it occured to me that introducing anything like that into my game would likely make it incredibly one sided or mean an entire rewrite (and some of these roles are based on references to the source material as I thought that'd be fun). You'll see!
Often here it's been outside commitments rather then a lack of skill that's stopped things from running smoothly like that. :/
EDIT: Also, I figured I'd allow the Wolves and pair of Independents to choose their means of communication and run it by me. A little freedom as to what suits everyone in the group best could go far. If they want QuickTopic, they got it.

@Furore I haven't heard of anyone not going far when cheating.
Seer can cheat the most though. Seer can leak shitloads of info and form "alliances". When you're a townie, you're supposed to play detective instead.
Not to mention, people will never improve with a handicap like that.

Another good example;
You play Video Games and since Wolf is a game, so...here; When you're playing a game and you can't beat it on normal at all, do you keep trying even if it takes you 100 times or go back to Easy and play it like that for the rest of your life?
People love this game, if they love it, they should be up to step it to the next level.

It's not cheating when the rules allow it, or in fact encourage it.
The way this edition will run, if the Townies strategise they can win. If they don't they'll be easy pickings for the wolves unless chance favours them.
I prefer to market anything I create with a little research on my target market - as has been mentioned before (and not by yours truly) there's only a couple of people that were able to post enough to gleam any clues and even then the wolves dominated - it didn't help that the wolves could see all Townie communication and could pull feints like sacrificing their fellows for some to remain innocent looking.
I want an interesting game, not a case of wolf rape.
It is after all what got me into the unique AF incarnation.
As for video games, I've never had too much problems with any difficulty. I only usually play Easy if the game is heavily cinematic and I want it to roll like the movie it's seemingly trying to emulate. Those types of games are more recent though, an evolution created to satisfy a specific market.

@Furore I beg to differ. Using your hands in soccer is *cough*encouraged*cough* if you wanna win, right? But it would still be cheating. Also, you did totally not get what I meant so I will be straight with it, when you like to do someting, do you do it halfassed or do you trying to give it your all and wanting the game to be more challenging so you become better at it?
The reason Wolf 12 failed was because it was a new concept. When something is new to someone they are always gonna fall but you should always stand up and try again.
Another perfect example. We all fell down when we removed the training wheels off our bikes, right? So in this situation, do you put the training wheels back or you get up and actually try again?
Again, only reason is a wolf rape is because it's a new concept, once people get used to it, it will not.
Have to agree with this.
Another reason why there was "wolf rape" was because not many people even bothered to try. I apologize if that offended anyone in my previous game, as I appreciate everyone who participated in it, but there were few scumhunters/active contributors, two of which were killed off early on. It's not that the rules are too difficult, it's that there's not enough effort being put forth. I understand that people are busy and can't always participate 24/7. But you have to at least make some kind of effort. And if you can't do that, then why sign up in the first place, especially if you're going to let yourself get inactive-killed?
Also, @Furore , I had a few questions regarding the rules. Are we allowed to vote no-lynch? If so, can we vote for it on any Day Phase? Also, am I allowed to post PMs that other PLAYERS send me in this thread?
I agree as well... No PMs. D: That beats the purpose of the game! And the fun! C'mon, Furore. :c
Amber started to play on Wolf 12 yet she agrees, bro.
Furore, man, I'm sorry if I am sounding manipulate of YOUR game. But you should know that we are trying to improve the games here and help those who are willing to improve as well.
I understand your position, you want to make the game fun for people, but the way we are trying to establish is way more fun, people just have to get used to it, man. =)
PM is funner than thread-only communication in my opinion, I don't like readig 6 pages each day to find out my information especially when about 80% of them are something completely unrelated.
人類は調和したのか?VY2V3 = Me | Kagamine Len Act 1 = You
That's the commitment you made when you signed up. Kinda like my bro @Scruffy said. Everyone is like that though. New concepts get shoo-shoo just because they are new. We just have to give it a try.
PMing makes the purpose of a lot of roles really useless, like I said, the Masons, Cultists, the Neighbors and the Friendly Neighbors(to a certain extent). If PMing or outside communication was something that actually existed, those roles/factions wouldn't even existed in the first place either.
As the leader of Wolf, I am willing to make improvements and make the game fun, you guys just have to trust me on this one, please.

And the commitment you made by signing up to my incarnation is following the rules I've decided on. Next edition will go as the next host wishes.
I'm of the same mind as Xey Oiz.
By the time Wolf XII was up I'd already decided on most of my game which was based on the usual PM rules AF is accustomed to. I ran a couple of simulated games with some friends from another online community to get my wolf/townie ratio right with the roles I decided on. PMing makes some roles useless, but not the ones I decided on.
Using your hands in soccer is not encouraged, it is against the rules and why reputable games have an impartial judge watching the action carefully. When I do something I do it the best my circumstances will allow - and I don't question the rules that have been put in place for an individual game. Perhaps my thinking is too commercial as I got a lot from doing Design and Technology - but a prototyped concept that fails doesn't usually reach production. But I would not oppose you in your own games if you would like to do things another way. If I were to join I'd play by your rules.
Scruffy, there will be no 'no-lynch' votes due to the number of roles capable of revealing player roles, it would negatively effect play balance. You can share any PMs in this thread not from me, but that may result in reduced trust, less communication and therefore you giving yourself a handicap. But it's up to you.

That's the bad thing, Scruffy and I already learned not to use PMs, but everything will be held on PMs and the thread will be full of useless posts, probably just the posts with their votes that it will make both contributing and scumhunting (or our scum radars, it will be harder to get a signal) hard and it will make US use a weak tactic as "PMing" every single player. It makes the game boring as hell. >_>
Using my old bike example; If it was a race, and we were little kids, Scruffy and I will be the kids trying to ride the bike without training wheels and keep falling while others are passing us and they are using training wheels, so we are forced to use training wheels if we wanna win when we wanna do it the challenging way to make a better player out of ourselves. But if I don't do it, I will probably be in a huge disadvantage for playing the game right. But you're right, this is your game and I respect that.
About the roles, the only roles that should have the privilege of using Pm or Outside Communication, and those are the factions or roles I mentioned (plus Wolves). If I am the Assassin, and I have all answers shown to me, that's boring as hell and you don't learn. You will learn from your mistakes, and that's how you become a better player. I do see how many tactics that can be formed, and they are good but it would make the game too easy and boring. Allowing the Seer to talk it would make the game way too haxed, he will expose to everyone (and let's assume that everyone is not Wolf) the wolf privately, every time he hits Wolf. I mean, that would be cheating to anyone you ask outside this forum, or all the forums that play wolf/mafia.
You still haven't, anwsered when you fell off your bike when you took off the training wheels, do you put them back or keep trying without the training wheels?
I was both in my Football(Not American) Basketball teams backi in High School, I was a Football coach as well. So I am always going to think about making a better man out of myself and not take the easy or the weak way. I'm always striving for challenges to make a better man out of myself.
You'll never learn how to ride a bike if you are going to use training wheels you're entire life, just sayin.

I don't think there's any wrong or right way to play the game. For example, if someone prefers the color red and another prefers blue, I won't say it's right or wrong. I see it as their preference and respect their opinion.
That's basically how I see the wolf vs. mafia argument - both sides bring up valid points and both have been fun. I feel people should make an effort to play as they like. So if you don't want to engage in a heated argument, just tell us. If you don't want to read pms from other players as I'll be going by, then you don't have to.
As for me, I like no external communication except for the factions because I want to prevent another v9 pokemon disaster from occurring. Also, I saw the great success of it in the game @Kαitou talked about using this method. Posts weren't made just to spam but players actually made intelligent arguments for the majority of posts and it was still fun.
So we're clear, I respect the host's right set up the game however they want as well as our right to play as we wish within the rules, even if it does give us a handicap.

After more research it was determined that 2012 was the end of twinkies.
There's no such things Wolf vs. Mafia, because WOLF is MAFIA. Even Shini said it, he decided to call it "Wolf" because it fits more in an Anime Forum than "Mafia". But it's the same game, dear.
See Maverick, you not wanting PMs will put you in a huge disadvantage because you will be behind everything.
It happened to me on Wolf 8, no one, not a single person was talking to me and not even on the thread....I didn't even know what was going on. O_o It was boring as hell for me. And now that I am against it, it's gonna be worse.
