    Default Tablet PC -> Drawings

    Hey there =)
    I hope the thread matches the "Dazzle US" category, I did not know where else to ask you that question. Gomenasai!

    Since I'm pretty new to Manga-drawings I'm sketching out my pictures with a real pen, but now all of you made me curious about those "graphic tablets". I don't want to spend too much money, because it just doesn't make sense (I'd only use it for fun).
    I'd spend 60 (okay maybe 65) USD for it. I don't know which brands are of high quality. This is what I saw at Amazon so far - I thought Wacom looked pretty nice:

    I've heard of Bamboo Tablet. I've seen some in stores like Best Buy. Depending what you want they can run pretty expensive but I saw one for like 8- bucks which is pretty cheap.

    Wacom is the most reliable tablet brand, it's worth getting it for the brand name, since it means you are less likely to need to replace it.
    I had a wacom for about 10 years (it's still working), it's so old and battered that the cord sometimes stops working (the newer ones have a replaceable cord), but the thing still works!

    I won an Intuos 3, then upgraded recently to Intuos 4 thanks to my partner. Once you get good, the upgrades are nice, but I actually don't recommend people going to 3. Jumping to 4 is worth it, the changes are bigger than the previous versions, and the interface is awesomely convenient.

    As a beginner, you could try looking for second-hand wacoms on Ebay, you might be able to get one slightly better than a Bamboo (it's still a good tablet, better than my old gimpy one that I stuck with for a decade). Wacoms are very durable, and you won't notice the second hand issue at all as long as the seller is honst with the condition of the item. Good luck ^_^/
