First Cosplay Costume

Since i can remember,my friends and cousins had always buy or make Anime or Video games characters costumes to wear it for halloween (sorry if i spelled wrong) and make videos. Well, anyways, last year we didn't do anything cause we were saving and planning for this year's costumes. We are 10 people (6 girls 3 guys 1 bi). Even though all the pass years we've been doing this, we had always agree with what we are all gona dress as, this year we kind of had a little big argument, cause the boys want to go with Bleach, 4 of the girls want to go with Final Fantasy X-2 (like Riku, Yuna, paine,etc..), and my other friends want to go with japanese school alfets (I wanted to go with Naruto even though we did it 3 years ago,but, nobody agree with me

)...But, anyways, after our 'little' *bunny fingers* talk we decided to do what each want on our own and see who's better (something that i found stupid). The boys are gona make their own Bleach alfets, the other girls are (i guess) buying their alfets,cause,i don't know how are they gona make it, And well..i am stock with my 2 other friends making our own Japanese school alfets

This is my first time making a costume and it is a real pain (my older cousin is the one who made me the costumes). First i went to every single Fabric store of this town and none of it had the colors i needed (gray or navy blue), so i had to buy this cheap black. I was first making the skirt, and i thought for first time try was good,but, from my friend's point of view, it was always too small or too imperfect (i know i was like, why don't we just buy it, but she wanted to be make it -_-)...Well, anyways, too make this more shorter... after weeks i finally got the skirt and jacket done (last night). I took some pictures to send them to my friend (though i'm kind of nerves of what she is gona say)...Well, i would really like your opnion... :3

Aw :3 It's really cute! ^_^ You shouldn't listen to your friend's opinion. If she/he finds it imperfect then that's their problem... if you're proud of your schoolgirl outfit cosplay and like it, you should wear it and be proud!

I think this is really good work for a first-timer. I don't think I've ever seen a homemade cosplay this good on the first try ;D Keep up the good work, you're a talented cosplayer and cosplay maker. ღ(｡◕‿◕｡)ღ

Ok number one rule about cosplay? It is NEVER going to 100% perfect, no matter how long you've been working on a pertcular piece or how many years you've been at it. 1 year, 6 years. 10 years. Thats just the way this world works. So dont take your friends word to heart so much. If you are happy with it.. then by golly thats all that should matter to you. Now Ive got to say your costume looks absolutley beautiful and REALLY clean. The pleats on the skirt are all even, its taken me 6 years of working on stuff to get my stuff to look that clean, an still to this day I cant make pleats for crap. Keep up the good work. Your a natural!

My first con/cosplay was only in October and I went as a half-assed Scott Pilgrim and brought the bass I made from Woodshop class. Next con I'm going to I'm going as Scout from TF2 but instead of a baseball bat, I'm bringing a leek.

I agree with everyone else, that's amazing for your first attempt lol. You've got skills! My first attempt was a Kagome costume and let's just say I didn't end up wearing it...Hahaha. ^^;
