The Brighter the Light the Darker the Shadow
There has been no end of "debates" as to how Britain should deal with the ever-potent, ever growing population of the so-called under-class (or chavs if you prefer) - but in the end real resolution comes down to action, although I'd certainly agree that it's pointless for any country to complain about society-level inconveniences, as complaints in themselves resolve nothing. However, I think it's not so much that the government hasn't at all considered the reasons behind the increase, as it has had centuries to resolve the underlying problem: namely, a country where wealth is (still) determined by "class", which I might add, was promoted by the party (the Conservatives) under which the government serves. But the fact of the matter is, as opposed to the government's headline claims of serving the needs of the majority, its policies in reality have always been conditioned to put the "needs" of minority wealthy individuals (or rather it's own people) before the needs of the general public, including that of young individuals behind the recent protests and riots.
Unless one comes from a wealthy or affluent background, the chances of an individual being able to lead a truly prosperous and decent life is very remote. In addition, because crime sentences are weak here and the majority are generally undervalued as law-abiding citizens, it is easier for the likes of both working-class and under-class people to resort to crime in frustration, especially the young and uneducated. That's not to say that crime by any means should be condoned for any reason however, as this just makes it easier for the government to ignore the real issues behind crime in the first place, which in turn leads to a downward spiral of neglected and resentful communities, rife with unemployment, access to real education, and youths with little incentive to advance the quality of their lives beyond anger, drugs and alcohol.

wasn't the cab driver a drug dealer?
Time to bring in the military I say
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
shoot em in the leg and then arrest them simples
In a public place? What if they miss and kill some kid running across the street?
Besides, there is no safe place to shoot someone. It's very easy to bleed to death from a leg-wound if the bullet hits an artery. There's also the very real possibility of permanent injury. Which is a bit harsh when someone is merely a suspect.

You are forgetting that its kids doing this, and after what they've caused serves em right I say
Not saying that all kids are doing it.
I've gotten to the point of not caring about human rights now and want the police to be allowed to use whatever force neccessary to stop these damn riots

How does it? I'm not the one ruining the lively hoods of 1000's of people, I'm not the one causing billion £'s worth of damages, I'm not the one placing communities in a constant state of fear for their lives, I'm not the one causing set backs to the country's economy
It would be better to kill them as they already ruined their future, not like they had one in the first place. Plus they won't learn anything of use from locking them up, making them pay for their crimes. Their hate and anger will just bottle up until the next riot. And for those people who are innocent, they had their chance and they stay with the rioters. Not participating but just watching. The police have said countless time for bystanders to get away from these rioters and such but you'll always get a few who stays. So if the police start to use their firearms and shoot the innocent then its their fault not the police.
Well that is one idea but that won't stop the rioting. These rioters don't want anything except whatever they can get their hands on. Giving them a future would be meaningless because they have already begun their criminal career. Okay so we don't shoot them or anything to cause them harm, what can we do to stop them from rioting? Diplomacy won't work on these hooligans as they are getting what they want.
Do what they did when the exact same thing happened in France and enforce a nightly curfew. That will stop the riots, but won't prevent future riots. For that to happen, a more long-term solution must be sought, increasing social mobility and decreasing unemployment among young people.

Enforcing a nightly curfew? Wouldn't that provoke the hooligans to do more damage? But then again it would be easier to isolate and arrest them. However they probably do more damage and lives maybe lost. Future riots are going to happen, its something that no one can prevent as riots can take place anywhere.
