    Default Marketing on children

Do you think marketing on children is inappropriate?

I'm asking this on multiple forums so if you've seen this before, I do apologise.

If you can, please give me all your thoughts on the topic, whether it be for or against.

I guess it's ok if they have fun while doing it.

You mean... if the marketer's have fun? That'd be a pretty selfish way of thinking. They wouldn't be thinking of the children, or anyone except themselves, at all.

Well... the thing is, with the statement that 'Marketing on children is inappropriate', if you're arguing for it, you'd say that marketing on children could be damaging to them because their brains and way of thinking aren't as developed as adults.

If you're arguing against it, you'd say... they are old enough to think for themselves and to take away marketing from them just because they're 'too young' is unfair.

I don't think anyone has 'fun' watching commercials :S

Ahh an argument, now what we need is someone too stupid to give up.........

If the marketers get some good info out of it then who cares if it warps their fragile little minds. they'll just get equally ****ed over later in life so best start early so that by the time it matters then they're immune to it, kinda like that guy who i think was an Assyrian or something who was scared of being poisoned so he too a little so he developed an immunity to it but when they got defeated by the Spanish or the Russians he tried to poison himself but it didn't work so he had to stab himself. Moral of the story? if you mess with thier minds early then it will mean that they won't get messed with later because they'll be so thoroughly screwed up that nobody will want to market stuff at them cause they'll get the answers they want to hear all the time while absent mindedly talking about the theory of the orbiting teapot which actually makes sense if you look at it scientifically. All told if you look at the facts carefully you'll find that whatever your opinion is you've lost the argument.

oh yeah and don't troll to the new people it's kinda dull now if you want to troll find an AF vet who you'll find has a trolling immunity booster implanted into their brain and will syfer out the junk and be able to read it as the nonsense it really is.

I think marketing aimed at children is inappropriate. Children do not have the purchasing power to buy what's marketed to them, so it essentially boils down to marketers extorting the parents.

It's my debate topic in class.

Gazkul, neither of us were trolling each other but I think they misunderstood the topic because 'marketing on children' can also be read as 'marketing using children' I suppose.

A good society needs parents who can check spoiled brats.
