Sounds like your district is mistaking a school for a plantation.Originally Posted by th_afuro_samurai8:2585985
When I was younger I couldn't open my fruitsnacks so I asked the lunch lady to help me.
She cut them open with her scissors and they were all wet and stuff from the water they used to wipe down the tables.
My fruitsnacks tasted like soap.
Let's be honest, I'm pretty awesome.

I hope you're happy Eric, now I have to go watch Jamie Oliver to satisfy my morbid curiosity.
Also, YOU THERE! Yes you, guest man. Sign up, I dislike your lack of post counts and rep. How else do you expect me to figure out if I should treat you with contempt or praise.
This is a Sig. It's horribly out of date.
Back in boarding school everyone hated our dinners. For some reason I never minded them (got it from dad - can eat almost anything) since it was the only meal I ate every day (never used to get hungry - was on 1 meal a day for a whole year).
The only complaint I had was that there was no variety. It was either 3 different types of meat one day then 3 different types of pasta the next day, never figured out why they wouldn't serve meat and pasta together oO
I'm actually quite happy that our school has school lunches, and you can choose to go outside for lunch too. But I remember in middle and elementary school, I rarely ate cafeteria food o.o
I only remember the disgusting pizza I used to have when I was in elementary school. Every time I see "pepperoni pizza" on the lunch schedule, I just wanted to puke right on that menu. The pizza was rectangle and baked with nasty and stinky cheese and tiny pieces of meat (looked nothing like pepperoni) and the whole pizza fitted perfectly with the foil plate which means the pizza was sticking with that plate for days before they put that into the baker. And it was just tooooo stinky...
Weeks after experiencing that nasty pizza, I started to pack my own lunch of beautiful homemade sandwich!
Believe it or not, while the two towns (immediately adjacent to one another- no separation between them at all) and the school were not dangerous or rough, and which actually resemble one massive, sprawling suburb more than anything else, when pranks started at the junior high school and the high school, they tended to become insanely overblown. Someone put cherry bombs in one restroom's toilets one year, and smashed the others with a sledgehammer. Another time, a guy cooked popcorn in a microwave for over ten minutes, just to start a fire. (It didn't damage much besides the microwave itself, but we had to evacuate the building for a half-hour- in February. Must have been about 20 degrees F out there.) Heck, one of the physics teachers I had has been responsible for more trouble than any given year of students, forcing building evacuations and starting Barbie dolls on fire for classroom demonstrations.Originally Posted by nathanromml
To put this another way, even the physics club built and fired cannons. It was hosted by that same teacher, but not really supervised at all, and they designed a series of cannons meant to be used during football games, in the hopes of confusing and scaring other schools' teams and everyone's marching bands. They actually built a couple, but the coil gun they designed was, regrettably, just a bit too ambitious.
I, on the other hand, didn't usually experience the zany aspect of weirdness at the school. I tended to end up with more Kafkaesque stories, like the time some black kid I'd never seen before hit me over the head with his shoes in PhysEd. I called him Nikita, referencing Khrushchev's infamous UN speech where he beat his shoes on a table like a lunatic, and got sent to the office. Apparently, there were idiot faculty who thought "Nikita" was a racial slur. I didn't get in trouble once I'd explained it, at least.
The lunch ladies at my old school were good cooks, though.
I never really ate my school's lunches because I brought my own to school.
Though the lunch ladies where always nice is just that the budget for my high school went down a lot and the food quality got worse.
I'll never forget I was eating with my friends in my Junior year and my friend next me bite into a hotdog and he pulled out the longest hair I ever seen.
It was pretty gross and we all stopped eating. Though I his the cookies they used to give out.
I don't know much about US schools but in my country you can get a lunch from most schools or bring in your own. Could you not just prepare your own lunch before you go in the morning?
Man the food in the schools here was just plain nasty!! I had to eat it a few times, but i brought a bag lunch mostly. And most of the time i think they reused leftover food. Sometimes you would find a hair or a bug in the food. Just the thought of those Spagetti & Corn balls with government cheese makes me want to puke my brains out.
Man that is whack!

Well I'm not in USA either, but the lunches were free only 'till 4th grade. Later you had to buy coupons to eat at the cafeteria. Homemade lunches are much cheaper and tastier than the ones you can get at school, but you can't always have time to make them...
Speakin of lunch we had this ; tater tots with nacho chese, they had hot sauce on them, and a roll as the side. Now, my luch ladies have somthing against me...already the first day, and theyre scowling and muggin me...
Well, a lot of the kids are so rude to them that yeah, they'd have a sour face.
In my elementary school it was kinda bad, but in HS it was good, and I even made friends with them xD But yeah, they have limited resources and have to make a large amount of stuff for kids, most of which are bratty. I wouldn't want that job.

LOL I lol'ed because you said "governement cheese". I don't get why school lunches were so obsessed of cheese, and the cheese were low quality cheese, too, well, at least the high school I went to provided cheap cheeses in every single plates of food. I remember one time I ate the school's cheese and I ran to the bathroom right away.Just the thought of those Spagetti & Corn balls with government cheese makes me want to puke my brains out.
I always tell my 5th grade-brother to pack his own sandwich, but my mom wouldn't allow and she's making him eat the school's lunches, and now I'm noticing his weight is gaining by bunch. I say this because I've watched too much news about school's lunches that had became one of the factors of children obesity because of the ingredients in the food. Oh gosh...I wanna puke now!
In the school I go too
We have no cafeteria's................
South Africa sucks!!!
I have no stories to tell.............SORRY EVERY-ONE
The cafeteria at my school is actually not so bad... o___O
