For the people who are living in Japan,
Just a quick question, when you watch pokemon, say...from a DVD, i.e., you buy legally, does it come out in japanese or the english dub? If it comes out in japanese, is it english subbed?

I don't live in Japan...anymore.
But what made you think they would release Pokemon on DVD in English when it's originally in Japanese?

I know it's a bit weird..for Pokemon to come out in english in Japan but I just get the feeling that Pokemon's dominated by America 'cause everywhere I see, it's in english =P
I was watching one of the banned eps which came out only in japanese and I thought ''hey, this is way funnier than the english dub. i wish i can watch them in the original version.''
japanese only. just like how in america its english only for some stupid reason.

I wasn't talking about those things lol xD
I was talking about the anime. It might not be dominated by America, but to ME, it feels like it is.
But whatevs~ I was asking if it comes out in japanese or in english in Japan and if it does come out in japanese, in the DVDs, is it english subbed or not, AND I already got my answer (from ParaParaJMO). Can someone tell me how to close thread?
^the planes got me
Things made in Japan are Japanese only, but are dual-audio (and/or subbed) outside Japan, just like things made in the US are English only, but are dual-audio (and/or subbed) outside the US.
Actually US DVD's often also have a Spanish audio track, due to the relatively large Hispanic population in the US (like a full 1% of the US population speaks Spanish as their primary or only language). But this is unusual as in MOST countries in the world, their primary language makes such a HUGE percentage of the language used that anyone else is an super-minority (like less than 1 percent of the population). In France, for example, about 99.9% of the population has a primary language (or only language) of French. In Japan, 99.9% of the population has a primary language (or only language) of Japanese.
Whoever thought they had dual-audio (and/or subbed) DVDs of Japanese anime shows like Pokemon in Japan is a complete moron.

I don't know whats up with the english only stuff being posted here.
Stuff made in the US are primary english.. but most major hollywood movies have spanish and french subs in the DVD's.
