help needed to find an anime

looking for an anime that i used to watch when i was younger. i only remember 2 characters, there was a fat talking cat man who turned into a lion (who i think could cause fissures when he punched the ground, he was also their chef) and the protagonist was a teenage boy with purple hair. there might have been the standard love interest too who could have been the third member of their party.

they all transformed magically, the cat, like i said, turned into a lion. the boy just turned into a man with muscles and stuff. i think they transformed using talismans or jewels around their necks

i just remember a small bit of one episode. the purple haired guy had to stack rocks on top of each other while he sat on some weird hover board.

any idea would be appreciated

Don't think I've ever seen it, sounds pretty off the wall though! =D
