Strange popup

I've been getting a box at the top of my screen claiming to be from Windows Security, asking for my login credentials for "ferrarastage.com". No iea what that is, never seen it before. Then it asks for a username and password. I can cancel it out but it keeps coming back as I navigate the site.

At this time I'm not seeing it on other websites, so I don't think it's a problem on my end.

I just saw it on a game forum too. Maybe it's something to do with forum software. Avira's coming up clean, and it doesn't cause trouble or anything. Just odd.

Are you sure it isn't anything to do with something on the webpage itself like a image that is hosted in a private area on that site that requires login details.

No idea, but you can't navigate to that site without logging in. I haven't seen it today yet.

Well you can either look at the page source or if you have firefox and adblock plus installed you can look at all the items that can be blocked.

Every time I've seen people asking the same question the answer has always been someone is using a signature or avatar that is hosted on a private server which requires login details (that is the login details of the person who is using the image)

Next time you encounter this issue post here the link of the thread you are in. Even thought most of the time it's an image causing it (as demonix said) it's worth searching deeper.
