FINALLY, A BOTM WHERE EVERYONE ENTERS AND IT ISNT THE LAST ONE. I'll think up a clever sub sentence to the above later.
Round 1: MaruDashi vs. Arrancar Gimmjow
Strong color and a strong stock choice pull out Maru's entry. Its also nice to see a good choice of text to create a good hierarchy. The composition is very busy though, and is really drenched the purest form of the colors used with very little use of balance to emphasize a particular area. So it can be tweaked a little.
AG's entry presents another strong stock choice, as well as some interesting flow. The text is really out of the way and doesnt do much for the composition. But overall, more could be done here. No blending, no real use of flow, and the blue/gray background of colors just doesnt compliment the stock choice.
We give victory to Maru, a better use of color, a better use of text, and it explodes enough to draw attention to itself.
Round 2: Daken vs. Ardelia
Daken's concept is very interesting, it using a black and white theme with random color hues. Contrast is nice here. But it leaves much to be desired; while the concept is good, it feels half done. Not much flow or blending leads to be a very empty tag. A stock in a fog on a background, so to speak.
Ardelia goes with the colors of the render used, lots of blacks and oranges. A nice use of C4Ds creates a type of explody effect. Although it need a a little refining. The size choice feels a little unnecessary resulting in more of the tag ending up as empty black space, with no lighting source to compliment its use. A simple cropping of space or better use of lighting would help.
Overall, we awarded Ardelia the win. The entry feels more completed, though having flaws, its contrast and use of color help make it pop more.
So, 2 people, 1 battle. The final 2 moving on to the next round are:
