Tests of Patience

Ever been in those lines for amusement park rides? Some of them require you to stand for hours. Even though the actual ride is like.. 2 minutes long.

How long can you typically wait for something? do you have a natural limit for waiting, or are you the type that could wait around for eternity to get even the smallest of things?

Chances are, I'd just walk away. Only exception to this would be the DMV. But that's one of those lines you can't really escape.

Sometimes during lunch the lines are unbelievably long and people sometimes skip too >>" so if it's past five, ten minutes I loose it and then just move to a different lunch line. Even having four lunch lines, there's alway going to be crowded-depending on how early or late you arrive~

I'm pretty good at waiting. Though some people say I'm too impatient? I don't mind waiting in lines for things like rides etc. I always feel bad for the people I'm with you may not like it. I've sat on the edge of my bf's bed doing absolutely nothing except starting at his desk while he was taking a nap for a few hours.

My mom on the other hand. Can't wait in line at the grocery store. Half the time she leaves me with the buggy cart with no means of paying for it. And I just have to hope she makes it back in time.

I don't mind waiting if it's for something like a concert or a sporting event. But if it's a long line at a store I'll just go somewhere else.

I've learned to be patent if I really want something because that will not make it go any faster and in the end it makes it even more worth it.

It depends on how much I want what I am waiting for.
But I am typically fairly good at waiting.

when i have something better to do i tend to get really impatient...

I get increasingly impatient the longer I have to wait. But how long I wait depends on how much I am willing to push impatience aside for whatever it is I am waiting on.

I once spent 4 hours on hold with Apple, just to ask them if they planned to make the iPad pressure sensitive. They didn't give me an answer, so I called a month later. Still didn't get an answer...

Well, that just seems foolish, then. No way I would sit on hold for that long.

I'm pretty impatient when it comes to waiting in lines or for other people. That's why I always carry a book or homework around with me just in case. :P

I'm very patient. I can wait for an eternity.
But in some cases, I'm impatient, but that is because maybe I have something to do. But if I had nothing to do, I don't mind waiting forever.

As long as I have an some kind of multimedia device with decent battery I can wait for a long time. I've sat through night long layovers, 10+ hour hospital wait times, and all that jazz. I just zone out.

EDIT: I've got less of a tolerance for lines because I just feel suffocated by the bickering and disgruntled hive mind around me, but still an hour or two is no problem.

A person's patience in a given situation revolves around how much desire a person has to wait for what they may be rewarded at the end of the waiting period. For something like an amusement park ride I wouldn't waste fifteen minutes in line, while I could wait a much longer time without struggle for something else.

I would like to think my overall patience is above average; the only reason I'll abandon my waiting for something is because of variable factors that I deem to be significant enough to impact my remaining wait time (like waiting for service at a restaurant that is very crowded and understaffed).

I guess I'd wait for things like food, rides and matches. I just hate waiting for people who want to buy stuff at stores. Is it just me or do they just argue with the store keeper about the price and the quality of something small for hours.
