I think it's cute seeing that a prince fell in love with a commoner. It doesn't interest me as much as the others though. But maybe I'll watch it. If I get to catch it on TV. xD

I'll be watching anyway; I might never witness a royal wedding like this in my lifetime ever again~ :P
p.s. come to think of it, i never had watched an actual marriage before... XD
I think the monarchy is fine the way it is, the power is held by elected officials while the royals bring in more money through tourism than is spent on them. They are nothing more than a commercial enterprise and one which is being fairly profitable.
As much as the American way seems more democratic it falls down in the fact that it is run by Americans, nothing personal to the 80%(?) of AF who are Americans but to be honest i wouldn't trust half of your politicians (the republicans) with cleaning my boots let alone running a country.
I won't be watching purely cause i have other things i would much rather do like emptying the septic tank.
I'd rather run the country independantly than have loads of politicians and so thats why I'm thinking of forming my own political party as myself and who knows perhaps it'll work
No, I don't give a crap.
I'm not interested whatsoever in any of this over-hyped royal palava as some of us (in the retail industry) still have to work on that day anyway >.<
There's no 4 day long weekend for me at all this week, oooooooh no, I have to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday AND Monday ahead of me yet! ^^
Your choice to go into the retail sector
My dad will be a part of the special 250 people who get to be right up close
I'm opposed to royalty on principle. They're an anti-democratic vestige of a bygone age that have no place in modern society. They should cut their hair and get a job.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
pffft I think democracy is over rated to be honest, it doesn't help economies just look at how successful China is and they don't use a Democracy
I am heartbroken and bitter, and until I decide not to be I would love for this wedding nonsense to go away, thanks. ^-^;;;
I mean, uh, best wishes and congratulations to the happy couple...
...and good flippin' luck.¬_¬

I don't really care, and there are too many people that care, too much cameras flashing on their faces ... I wouldn't be able to stand that. Sheesh, just leave the couple alone!!! -_-
But I did watch some parts of the biography because my dad somehow lands on that channel and I just over hear it.

I don't really care about the royal wedding, the only ones who care are the media.
Btw, I've seen too much of it on tv and the Australian news lately. :/

There's an tornado outbreak here yet people(the media) just care about some silly wedding no one gives a damn about?
They prefer to watch people that are no more than a symbolic figure marry than the lives of humans.
Some people amaze me...

What is royalty based on again? Lineage? Really? You're going to put a family on a pedestal based on a "who's your daddy"? Then you're going to claim that America is undemocratic because you don't like who we democratically elected?
I'm getting the feeling you don't know what democracy is. Democracy is where your vote is equally significant to everyone else's. This means sometimes your guy loses and you have to live with it. It sounds to me that you don't really want to live in a democracy, but more like some sort of monarchy or tyranny where you decide to rule the country? I hope that doesn't happen any time soon.
...what? People across the pond are getting married?
I was busy watching news about thousands of people dying in the South... this changes EVERYthing.
I speak for a large number of people including myself when I, acknowledging that the royal family probably does have some likable and kind-hearted people in it, say they have no reason to be praised or hailed as they are. What makes the members of the royal family so much more special than you or I? And if they aren't special, then why do we care about them?
Hey, I'm all for celebrating people's weddings: they can be wondrous and unforgettable experiences in a person's life. But why can't my wedding be televised on the voluminous news stations worldwide the 'royal' wedding will be covered on?
If someone could answer these legitimate questions rationally, I'd reconsider my stance on these charades. Until then, I'll be the hateful person I am in trying to forget these people's names.
For those of you outside of the states: You would not believe how many television outlets are rambling about the wedding. I know it's a big deal for some of you in western Europe, but you'd think the United States just wouldn't cover something like this - something that doesn't impact any of its people's lives in the slightest bit.
i agree with the american political system, i just disagree on principle with the policies of most of your politicians, ie no left wingers or anti-nuclear politicians. a lack of trust in a country that can allow someone who thinks global warming is a hoax to run for vice prez. besides we can hate politicians or have they repealed the right to free speech?
while the concept of the monarchy is flawed it should exist even if it's there purely to bring in tourists.
Instead of posting some remarks about how overblown this was, and some cracks about the revolution and their accents, I give you this image.
"The color fades along the intervals I follow."
The thing is, it doesn't really boost tourism all that much. The recent Swedish royal wedding proved that. It was motivated by "oh it's going to be so great for the businesses in Stockholm that the countless of millions spent on the thing will be nothing". But when the final tally came in, it was only a small number of businesses that saw any real upswing, and what they made was dwarfed by the ridiculous sums of money the wedding cost.
It is just poor taste to hold such a thing in a time of recession. Wasting taxpayer's money on personal excesses in a time when they need it the most is just spitting in the face of every single person who can't quite get ends to meet, who has been laid off due to cutbacks, or kept from college due to raised tuition fees, or has to embark on an epic journey across half the country to send a simple letter.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
It interested me a little and I did watch it, but what I didn't get was if he and this girl were living together for 2 years, and i'm sure they were sleeping together, and everyone knows how big the royal family is on image, then why did they marry them in a church? Just a careful observation.
I watched it moments ago and I think it was just a beautiful wedding. I see how happy they were and I honestly wish the two the best for years to come. At the same time I think it was a cool experience for me to see an event like this.
