anyway to start off my new thread, Happy Easter everyone!
this was just something quick, nothing too fancy =D

this is my OC Micoco, her original design was last years easter image but with no colour at all, so now she has colours! =D

i use Paint Tool Sai for all my art now and do minor touch ups in photoshop at the end ^^

Paint Tool Sai, I don't mean to sound stupid but thats a program right? ^^' I do most of my work over Photoshop CS5 with my tool of intuous4 tablet. ._. I can draw pretty good but not completely master drawing over the computer to get colours and certain things to look real good such as your stuff.

hahahaha yes Paint tool Sai is an art program, you can download the trail in english for free, but the program intself is cheap and is about £50, compared to Photoshops price of like 500+ O.o

all i can say is, practice!
get familiar with the colour wheel and just fiddle!
the more you practice, the better you will get =D

But I haven't drawn for a loooong time so I'm practicing again. But recently, I've been thinking of buying a tablet. How different is it with drawing on paper? <-- this sounds stupid but I really don't know and I want to know before I do buy one. I might end up ditching it and going back on paper, that would be a waste of time and money so I want to know. Like what are the advantages and disadvantages, something like that. Teach me please!

ahh paint too sai is a tablet friendly program, i use a Wacom Bamboo Pen, its a cheaper model of Wacom but works wonderfully!
the main difference is, is that its hard to get used to at first, but after a week of practicing youl get used to it easily.

Advantages:
No more buying paper and pens (if you are like me and use copics, then you know that pens get pricey)
You can edit images with ease and if you make a mistake, its an easy fix ^^
You open up a whole new way of doing art and the things you can make just never end.

disadvantages:
prints can be expensive unless in bulk
art is usually worth less in print too.
if it breaks youl have to buy a new tablet.

I did check how much tablets are yesterday at the local mall... it's expensive. Haha! But I don't really mind spending that much for something I want to do. Are there any specific brands you can suggest before I buy one? Or what product specifics should I look for when buying one?

always one thing to know with tablets, if you want the best, get a Wacom brand tablet, ive tried other brands before i got a wacom, and wacom always stood out as one of the best!

I did find two Wacoms... a larger newer version and a smaller older one. I want the newer version but it's too expensive for me to buy right now so I might go for the smaller one~ UNLESS, I can talk my mom into using my credit card for it. I'm suppose to only use it for shopping regular stuff. XD
