I'm sure there are some things your parents do not agree with you, or goes against your true wishes. So what are those thoughts, and decisions your parents don't agree on?

And is there anything you asked for or said, that your parents agreed on and you were surprised about it?

The only thing my parents and I don't agree on is them thinking I will get bigger if I eat more, but truth is, I will never get bigger unless if I'm pregnant because I can eat every minute, and never gain weight -_- But they don't understand that still.

As for the surprising side, when I decided to change my future career into being an engineer instead of nursing [you know how Filipinos sometimes HAVE to be a nurse or die lol jk but that is the case for some], my father and mother supported me o.o My mom even listened to what I have to say and my reason on why I want to be it. But I guess it was because of my reasoning that made her think.

Also, when I asked permission from my mother through the phone to go to a 'rock concert' and once again gave her a reason why I should go, she agreed. Maybe because I did not give her full details xD 1) I wasn't really going with my aunt, but my uncle 2) I was riding a motorcycle to get there.
[after the concert and I told her everything, she freaked X_X' she has issues with me riding the motorcycle ~_~ this wasn't the first time either. I rode a motorcycle when headed to a wedding lol]

Either way, my aunt and uncle were going to sneak me out even if whoever didn't allow me xD They knew how much stress I was going through at that time.

When I said to mum I wanted to join my local volunteer fire brigade, she agreed totally with my choice.

i have lots of things that i wanted to do that my parents never allowed me to explore even the possibility of doing them...
but if i stick with the 'what-ifs' of my life...
i will get nowhere...
one chooses a road and it is blocked...
just need to find another way through it or find another way that is not...

Join the military? Okay they said. Go out drinking on Fridays? I'm cool with that they said. But of course I legally could those things.

Anyway, I didnt rebel much against my parents because I saw plenty of horrible examples of people who did rebel against their parents. 16 year olds having babies (we had a club for these people), the captain of the football team getting kicked out for a DUI, even a suicide happened at my school that became quick public knowledge. I felt it smarter to just shut up and listen.

I want to be in the Navy but my father laughs at the idea... I know I'm an adult and I can do as I please, but it still hurts to feel like he doesn't believe I can make such a big commitment. -_-

We'll see...I have a few loose ends to tie up before I make the next big change in my life. I'm hoping that no matter which direction I take, I'll have the courage within me to do what I feel is best for ME, and not what my father wants me to do.

But I'm sure I won't be the first person to rebel against their family to join the military, and I hope I won't be the last!

Either I'm very good at arguing or I've been blessed with rational parents because they were very reasonable with me when I was in middle/high school. I've never had real friction with them ever over any issue; but of course I'm not exactly the most wild kid in the world. I believe the key to having reasonable parents is to be reasonable yourself.

I never really Rebeled really. I always wanted to please my parents. Though when I told them I didn't want to become a lawyer and wanted to go to psychology to become a therapist my parents tried to talk me out of it. But in the end they agreed to my choice. I also never went to bed lol

I usually don't listen to them because I don't have to, I'm the most well behaved in our house but I usually get angry if they try to tell me to do something that they could so I tell them how they are wrong and they should do it, it usually works. o_o

Mom is a plastic person; she may look and act nice but always hides her dark side to you. Dad is full of pride; he would always imply that he's always right, that I can't stand a face against him. But since I'm a "good" son, I always have to obey; I never rebelled in my entire life. Because if I do, I'll just hurt myself.

Anyway, they're still good parents overall but, there's a part of me that hates them so much that I used to have nightmares about arguing with them. There's also a part that likes them for their hard work of bringing us (siblings) up, and maybe I thank them for who I am now. After all, there are just two of them in this world so, I might as well cherish our moments together... (grr, why am I getting so emotional...? >.<)

If they're wrong they're wrong everyone makes mistakes even parents. Just because they're my parents doesn't automatically make themexempt from the human error factor

I sometimes don't listen to them because when I do something for them, I feel like I should get something as well in return and they seem to forget to do something as well.

To be honest, I don't think there is anything like that. My mother was always pretty laidback about whatever I did. Probably cause she didn't have to worry about my choices cause I tried to be an upstanding kid. Only thing my mother ever told me, was related to sex, and that was, she didn't care what I did as long as I didn't make her a grandmother, LOL.

Nah, in alot of ways, my folks didn't bother to be involved in my day to day life, so there were things they didn't bother teaching me and such. In ways, I lost out on stuff cause there was no need to try it if I wasn't allowed to do it.

I lied to my dad's about going to visit a friend, that's he's met in real life, in Texas when really I was going to see a friend of mine's that he's never met and drive with her to California. When I told my dad the truth, he didn't really freak out or anything, cause I think it's cause he knew that I was ok.
