Oh why is my humour not recognised here?
It's British humor.
You were screwed from the get go.
With the advances of technology, our social system has also advanced (backwards) as most see it, children becoming more exposed to things before we did at that age. And parents just letting them have crap... that they are clearly not ready for yet. Like mature media.
"Mom, can you get this rap cd and videogame for me?" "What are they called?" "censored them censored by Nas T., and the game is called MurderRapeFest 2010." then the mother will walk over to the clerk "Does that game have sex or substance abuse in it?" "No, mam, but that rap CD actual gives detailed instructions on bo..." "Its just music, everything will be ok." What makes this so bad is that I've actually seen this happen, the clerk caring more about the parent's child and having this look of what the hell is wrong with them and another look guilt after he sells them the items.

I sort of lump us all into the same gen, and then the children of us are the next gen, just like our parents are the previous.
It's not that long ago we were kids/teens, I can remember my childhood vividly, I know I am still young.
Yes, technology has increased drastically in a decade, I find mainly that with all these new phones, actual person to person communication is limited.
We were just outside more, but we know all the technology.
ein, zwei, drei, vier bin endlich weg von Dir
fünf, sechs, sieben, acht Du hast jetzt keine Macht
What I'm tired of is kids these days getting in trouble with the law at young ages. I mean how hard is it to stay in school, do your homework, and just be a good all around citizen. I know a kid whos 15 and already does cocaine. WHAT IS THIS. COCAINE! I didn't even start cussing until i was 15.
Once again, amazing props to the talented Paprika!!
This smile kills....
I must shamefully agree. Our lives are wrapped around all of these things that don't matter, and so many of us are just left lifeless to the possession of a teenage personality. All we are anymore are these people who want to be everything that's been fed to us through stories and movies and games. And so that's who we try to be. Some of us are so focused on love that we can't take a break and let ourselves just have fun. Others only want to get into trouble because the teenage atmosphere IS trouble. We're growing weaker and weaker in the world, and people have so many stereotypes about us, and almost all of them are true. Even so, nothing happens the way we want it to. Those movies we watch aren't real life. Why do we try to make it so? I've realized that if we just let ourselves have safe, responsible fun, then our lives can be both FULL of life, and fun, and beautiful.
I just want to share this joke that I've read in my friend's tumblog. I can totally relate on this one so I think that you'll like it.
A person who can't remember to walk the dog but never forgets a phone number.
A weight watcher who goes on a diet by giving up candy bars before breakfast.
A youngster who receives his/her allowance on Monday, spends it on Tuesday, and borrows from his/her best friend on Wednesday.
Someone who can hear a song by Madonna played three blocks away but not his mother calling from the next room.
Too much pride, too much desperate, too much wannabe, too much mentally illness, too much brainwashed.
That is how I look at them. They are kinda disturbing.
For those who don't know Monty Python this is one of the more famous sketches
I've been reading a few of the comments and i want to say: Bravo! Well said!!
It's good to know the world's society won't end just yet
