what do you think of vocaloids

I like them. They look cute and beautiful, depending on the graphic. I haven't heard much of their songs though, only covers. But they sound nice. And it's an amazing technology that makes your songs come alive.

I'm not a vocaloid expert but it seems like they work better for Japanese. I'm not sure if that's something to do with a fundamental difference in the difficulty of stringing together the phonemes of the two languages, just the particular examples I've heard, or if it's more that I don't know what all the Japanese is supposed to sound like, so it doesn't bother me.

I love Vocaloid songs, but not the actual Vocaloids themselves. The robotic voices annoy me, so I listen to the covers people on NicoNico make of them. :3

Yep, those are clips from last year's Miku 3/9 (sankyuu) concert. I was really impressed.

But talk about devolution. This year they decided to just project everything on a 2D screen again... I was not happy. >=(

Sorry, no holograms here! Just mirrored images - the usual "hologram". A French news show called "The Big Journal" got that point wrong (along with tainting the Vocaloid name by citing PoPiPo as a song played at the concert they were reporting instead of something from Miku's lighter side) and went under heavy fire for a quote some time.

It just goes to show that Vocaloid is an art form, no less a genre of music.
