-Pokemon (not just Pokemons, even the human characters can work too)
-Disney (Pixar counts... anything Disney related, duh. Its so obvious)
-Nickelodeon (iCarly, All That... yada yada, those can count too, or various of others)
-song titles
-lyrics (maybe it can also work with song titles)
-still life (not animals, maybe cars, plants... those stuff)
-manga colouring (they have to find a manga to colour over photoshop and create it into a signature)
-a country (something to represent a country, ie. England, America, Egypt, etc. I think you should limit on the Japan thing, I think a lot of people will do it or it'll be over done. meh)
-babies/children (self-explanitory?)
-dA artworks (before submitting in the artwork, show that we have permission to use the artwork for the signature as of proof and use the artist's name somewhere in the signature)

Hot Pursuit is a boring game.
Haven`t tried the other one obviously.

If any car game need to be represented it`s Test Drive Unlimited 2.
It`s an mmo car game where you can do alot more then just race cars.

But having a theme for only one racing game is weird, so the theme should be Racing games(cars)

Oh I have friends on PS3, but they only play like 4-5 of the games I play, mostly Black Ops :P
And I`m bored with BO.

Like take a tag you`ve made and do something more to it, could of course be one that you actually think is unfinished.

Just wanted to throw this out there for future reference. The theme needs to be as obvious as possible; if an entrant sends me something, and must give me an explanation to what the entry is/represents; then its a bad theme.

Would also like to mention that many of these themes have already been used, while I am not against reusing them is presents either a bias issue or lack of entry issue. Obviously, if I rerun a theme and you've won the previous contest in which it was used, why would I host it again? Secondly, if I rerun a theme and you didnt enter, why should I run it again if you didnt?

I'm the graphics/art head moderator on a site called Anime League, and in about a month (end of April), we're hosting a giant GFX tournament with multiple graphics forum sites like AnimeRender, OtakuCenter, and AboxCafe. Basically, each site picks "champions" to represent them in the tournament - they can be universally-agreed-upon great GFXers or just whoever signs up first, and then they all compete in different rounds until a winning forum is declared. The grand prize for winning the tournament is $50 and some serious super bragging rights for both you and your forum.

The point of this is, if AnimeForum wants to participate, we're officially inviting you.

Now that I think about it, forgot all of the other themes and let's do collabs and it would be good for users too, getting them out of their comfort zone and in to new things. o_O;;

Um, no? You havent even asked for my, or any other Mod's approval. I don even mingle with any other GFX sites so I dont know anything about this and I think you are jumping in too quickly. The current SOTW barely gets 10 votes a week, I think we should first bolster our own activity before we start involving other forums; mostly because this isnt a Graphics website, its an anime website. I've been trying for years to get more people involved to do things like that, but we lack serious levels of participation, and if that doesnt change, I dont see that happening in the future.

Also, my site is not a graphics site as well. It's a whole big forum full of other things.

Also also, this would be an awesome opportunity for you to establish those connections with other sites that you said you don't have. And the sign up thread would obviously have all the information that you're missing.

Sorry if you thought I was stepping on your toes, but I don't think it's fair for you to tell people they can't compete if they want to. I've already gotten PMs from people who are interested in joining in just from the post I made in here. Considering we can't gauge participation without making the thread (how can you say people won't want to join in if they don't even know about it yet?), you're shooting this idea down preemptively. The tournament is going on whether you acknowledge it or not, so why not let your members make up their own minds? I'm sure they'd all like to decide for themselves. We only need about four people, and considering your complaints about activity, winning the tournament would bring your site the advertising you need to bolster activity.

But hey, if it makes you more comfortable, I'll take on the GFXers who want to participate as freelance instead of associating them with AF specifically. They'll still get to participate, and you won't have to deal with a scary sign up thread. Unfortunately, your forum also won't get any of the glory, but them's the breaks.

Just wanted to drop this idea out here.

I recently received the idea of having a Signature of the Year, competition. The user who suggested the idea didnt have a lot of thought placed into how it works, and how it will be determined, who would win, etc. But I just wanted to let you all know that I do think that I will give that a shot later in the year if time allocates it.

I think it'd be too complex to have a SOTY. I think you'd have to vote the best signature of the month out of the SOTW's winners for that month and then get the 12 best signatures from each month to be voted on for SOTY. If you're going to try this idea I say start it in 2012 rather than back tracking and starting it in the middle of the year. Seems like a nice idea though.

Themes?
Color preset- use a majority of one color
your photography- Feature any image you took yourself in your signature.
Japanese Food- Yeah.. Self explanatory.

That's all I can come up with ATM. I should be packing for the 6 hr drive home in an hr and I'm not ^^;
