does anyone here know any world war II anime ?

A really good war themed fuedal-clan era anime that I can think of would be Basilisk ^^

Another really good feudal-era Japan one is Ninja Scroll, also somewhat of a classic anime series ^^

I've never seen an anime actually set in WWII, (Except Grave of the Fireflies, but I doubt that's what you're looking for) the closest I've seen to a WWII scenario is Valkyria Chronicles.

Now be warned, Valkyria Chronicles kinda sucks, but it's the closest I can think of to the sort of thing you're probably looking for.

The animation of Valkyria Chronicles is really good though, that's one fab thing about it ^^

Valkyria Chronicles anime was just lame. Video game was much much better.

Anyway, you could check out First Squad. It's a joint project between Japan and Russia. Studio 4°C is the one who did the animation. I haven't watched it yet but I heard some good things.

I know Hetalia: Axis Powers is related to World War II. And sometimes it has facts. But it's really full of comedy and sometimes have no connection to WWII.

technically it is set during WWII even though the countries aren't fighting each other but rather giant alien machines called neuroi

Like previously stated, there is Grave of the Fireflies. It isn't an action anime, it's a "make grown men cry like 5 year old girls" anime. I'd still recommend seeing it even if it isn't want you are looking for, just to say you can if anything else.
