Okay so basically how do you feel when someone copies something you are doing. Does it irritate you or are you alright with it? What do you find bothersome about it? And if you're alright with it, would you want people to be more like you?

As for me, I'm alright with it, I dont mind. There are certain things I don't mind if people copy me, sort of like having the same tastes in anime and what not. But it really bothers me if they steal my witty remarks, my catch phrases, the characters I use in a game and what not. Like my little cousin, he tries to be like me. I tell him honestly that I'm the last person he'd want to be like. But well he's young. Still it can get annoying. >__>

Yeah, I get pretty annoyed sometimes. I mean, I head that when someone copies you, it's the best type of flattery... But still XD I don't mind if it's something small like copying a hairstyle or something but if it's something related to music, I can get all PMS-y. XD Like if someone copies something similar to my compositions or something. And I have a couple of friends a couple of years younger than me who copy a lot of stuff that I do. I mean, there's such a thing as "too much".

I don't mind it at all if someone takes after the same interests in anime, manga, or whatever else just 'cause I like them. Honestly I'd find it kind of flattering. And all the more power to you if you like it just because you like it.

Being a total copycat is a completely different story though. Really, there's little more that gets on my nerves in this world than a lack of originality. As thoughtful and proud members of AF, I believe we can all agree that it just ain't cool to have someone swoop in and steal your personal schtick. But not just here on AF, but irl as well; one's clothing styles, the way we style our hair (I'll bet money Justin Bieber stole that fruity haircut of his from someone.), the way we speak, etc, etc.

It's a matter of personal pride and representation, damn it. ><

It's sometimes uh.."cool" to have people copy a few good values from you. I don't mind, but when it comes to the point where the person is not even trying to copy you but rather BE YOU then it really gets irritating, especially when they hang out with you and thinking everything is alright and all you want to tell him is to back off you.

Like Sigma, some of my little cousins tries to copy me, which I don't really mind because they are young..BUT when they say everything I say, or try to act exactly like I do it's when I kinda get annoyed.

I generally don't mind people copying me. I heard it means that they like your style so that makes me feel good about myself.
Unless I don't like them. If I notice someone I hate is copying me then I'll either stop with an annoyed look on my face or I'll just tell them.
It would be cool for people to be more like me but in my opinion I'm an original and I'll be happy if anyone does decide to be like me. :]
Then again I do copy certain people all the time so I wonder how it would make them feel?

I hate it especially when the younger ones attempt it. It irritates me so much that I feel like choking them, literally.

 

But then again that's just me being a bit b*tchy, I wouldn't really choke them I'd just give them the look.

I generally don't mind if it's like similarities in taste and stuff; that's pretty flattering in fact. ;P But if I don't like the person who's copying me, I'll get all moody and glare at them.
But when people copy my personal quirks, like my manner of speech (Trust me, you'll never find another like it >.>), personal hand movements or facial expressions and whatnot, they either generally get smashed or get death glares. Pretty intimidating ones too.
But that doesn't really happen much cause no-one can ever copy my quirks that well cause, well, they're pretty strange. :L
@Anuket, I agree with you on that. Younger people copying anything I do makes me want to chuck them out or at a window.

Well, when I'm in a good mood- it's fin but there's always a line wherein they can't step through..and when I'm not in a good mood- well, let's just say.. it's not good to be in their shoes.. ( I'm not mean, just regaining my individuality).^^

Me being the nice, pleasant guy that I am, I'll purposely do things I know they can't do or insult some larger people I'm on good terms with. They'll know I don't mean anything so all's cool but won't think the same about Mr. Copycat.

No-one seems to copy my fashion though, I assume as it's because I rarely wear things that are in fashion.

Do you like people copying you? Fully, no, but they can equip their own style to it if they want it. Do you think the people you got the idea from had a problem with making it your own? Probably not. Will someone have an issue with you continuously stealing their exactly styles? Yes, some people will, make it into something special and don't do it just because your role model chose it.

None of us are truly original, we got ideas from other people, we are just attempting to make it our own unique style. It's like asking, who has their hair up in the pony tail majority of the time, who listens to Linkin Park, and who has a hard time talking with others? I bet there are at least two other people like this just on here.

As for the kids who mimic those who are older? We, the older generation, need to show them the ropes and hope they create their own style. Take them by the hand and show them the different things around them and hope they find a way of their own. Am I right?

Yes being copied can be extremely annoying and it does infuriate me at times. Ughh, I mean cant people get their own individual style?? If they are copycatting to mock me and it's in a mean way or to frame me on something, I don't like that, otherwise it doesn't bug me.
