Sports: the centuries-old competitions that involve some of the strongest, fastest, and smartest 'athletes' around who go against eachother to prize honor, respect, and acceptance from the world around them. While some prefer this more traditional sense of the word, others like to think of sports as a way to expel their energy, stay in shape, or just have fun. Whatever you think of them, chances are you have a favorite or preferred sport. In the above poll, vote for your favorite sport and support it in a sentence or two.

Personally, I prefer soccer over any other sport out there. Soccer is not only the most popular sport in the world, but it also has an amazingly complex tactical spectrum to it. Finesse is needed to play a full game, which is something that most other sports don't incorporate into their gameplay. There's also a unique thing about playing soccer, in that to play one must use their feet. To train for this an athlete must have patience and persistance. If they do not have either of the two, they will not be successful on the pitch.

I love lazer tag. It is a super fun sport, to play and watch. Games can get so intense. Also, soccer is a terrible sport. It is boring to play and and even worse to watch. I don't like Football that much, but even I know [American] football is better than soccer. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. Yeah, because of third world countries. I hate when people think soccer is more intense then football becaus ethey run a lot. In football, the players get tackled by 6'4" 250 lb tanks, and then shrug it off and keep playing. In soccer, people get tripped and whine and complain about it because the pain of their slightly bruised knee is too much to take.

I love both sports, don't get me wrong, but when it comes down to it an argument is useless.

American Football is basically only popular in the US and Mexico (which in total has little above 400 mil people). So even if you limit yourself to the western world, American football still gets positively steamrolled by soccer in popularity (as Europe has a population in excess of 700 million).

To the other arguments, international doesn't mean a sport is good. technically, because of winter olympics, curling is an international sport, that doesn't mean it's a good sport, or even a sport.

To the argument of uninterrupted gameplay: who cares if it's uninterrupted if nothing happens. I hate how they can play continuously and still end up with a score of zero to zero. At least in football, when they take a break, there is a good chance that there was at least some action and not just some meaningless running. If I wanted to see a bunch of running, I'd watch my school's 3 black kids run track.

My apologies for being unaware of every thing that comes out of Daniel Mosh's mouth.

And if the game's outcome were 0-0, a tie, the teams were even and a display of athleticism from both teams was represented. You are obviously incapable of understanding that becuase, and rightfully so, you don't associate yourself with soccer.

We could be talking about bocce for all I care. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. For the good of the forums, let's get back on topic.

I dance for myself once in a while, used to play Soccer and Floorball in school, but meh, wasn't all that great, even though my weight is WAY too much for a 14 year old boy, I still have nice condition and I run pretty good.
