Okay, here's a Gundam thread I just thought of.

If you could design ANY weapon for the Gundams (all series) what would it be and what would this particular weapon do?

Mine would be a take on the anchors from the Blitz Gundam - they act as individual "taser" weapons and shock the Gundam's electrical system and the pilot inside.

That would be beam weaponry.

Anyway, mine would be something like a beam shield attached on a physical shield. It can catch any beam shots and deflect them back to the enemy mobile suit. If possible, you can manipulate the beam energy's shape and make something like a beam blade attached on the shield.

I would likely combine rapid fire with high impact sniping/accuracy ability on a rifle: beam sub-machine gun with linear/railgun or compact mega-particle cannon. Fixing a beam bayonet would be useful in event of the opponent could evade and make a melee counter-attack or devastating bayonet charge with point blank rapid fire or mega-particle blast.

Full-auto shotgun with ability to fire different types of ammunition would be nice. It would fire scattered beam, high impact beam or high explosive rounds. Stun rounds (EM disruptor) would be effective addition to your fire power to immobilize your opponent before you completely incapacitate him/her.

Hahaha, honestly, I think about every weapon described here has been made in one alternate universe of Gundam or another. Pretty sure the Kampfer uses a rapid fire shotgun with interchangeable rounds while Strike Freedom takes the words "accuracy" to a whole new level....

Personally, I'd like to make a beam katana, sort of like the one in the Astray Red Frame, however when it is connected to a source of power, it can be alternatively used as a beam saber kind of weapon, and when the energy shuts down for one reason or another, it will revert back to its original katana form. This will be somewhat useful for MS with a limited source of energy, as beam sabers require a high output of energy

Retractable Greatsword similar to Throne Eins?(the one with Fangs). It can be beam powered or when powered down still usable. And a shield using the same properties as Fantum 01(Infinite Justice's back glider) mounted on the mobile suit's arm. The shield would look like Fantum 01, can be used to block as beam shield and double for a booster pack. The shield would also store a tactical dagger(much like the vibrating knives in Eva) and a tactical pistol(similar to Dynames with laser aim in case Minovsky particles are too thick) with ammunition of exploding shells. The Fantum 01 shield is also doubled as a gun and could transform into 3 types of weapons: a huge rifle with the tactical dagger as bayonet,(barrel won't be the tactical pistol but the one that's already mounted on the shield) firing beam-generating shells that explodes on contact(picture a regular bullet that becomes coated with beam when fired and then explodes on contact). The second weapon would be a semi-spear/sword again with the tactical knife as tip and the tactical pistol as a short barrel near the tip(actions of this weapon would be similar to a gunblade). The third form would be to separate into two independent weapons(with looks similar to a combination of 00 Raiser's gunsword and the Twin Buster Rifle). One of them would again mount the tactical knife and pistol but acting more like the sword. The other one would be like the Buster Rifle firing gerobi beams.

On the head part of my mobile suit I would love to have Beam Machine Vulcans. So if a mobile suit were to carry all of these, it would look like it's just holding a sword and a shield.

Oh, and these weapons aren't recommended for underpowered MS. It needs a power supply similar to the ones the power Freedom or Twin Drive Systems. Not recommended for Zakus. You have been warned.
