You're assuming we know exactly how many rounds were fired, and we don't. We do know the shooter was trying to reload and was detained while doing so. I also wouldn't be as quick to assume a combat vet to be unable to describe gunfire.
Sadist, after the interviews recently I wouldn't be as quick to claim him... He'd go a lot further thanking and commending the civilians that responded to the shooter and provided first aid until first responders got there than opine that Arizona is a Mecca for bigotry and vitriol.

I am simply relaying one report given by a witness who worked at a Sprint store and he reported 15 to 20 shots, I never mentioned anything about any combat veteran in any of my posts.
"A man who works at Sprint store nearby told CNN he heard 15 to 20 shots, and there are two bodies on the ground in front of the Safeway. He said people were screaming that "Gabrielle Giffords has been shot."http://www.azcentral.com/news/articl...fords-brk.html

I heard that she got shotin the head but the bullet did not hit any improtant parts of it thats crazy lucky lady huh
...No, I mentioned a witness who was a combat vet, and you remarked it was unlikely the witness remembered correctly. I'm thinking you were referring to the description that it was a high capacity magazine.
A Glock 19 normally has 15 rounds in the magazine, plus 1 in the chamber. Since it can use Glock 17 magazines, which are 17 rounds, and still have that plus 1 in the chamber, we're looking at 16-18 rounds before the slide locks back on an empty gun. A 2-round extension for normal magazines also exists and is easy to come by. Keep in mind that the media typically refers to any magazine that holds more than 10 rounds to be 'high capacity'. When someone says 'high capacity' mags for a Glock I tend to think of the 30+ round ones, but that might not be the case here.
Either way, hurray more asinine gun control rhetoric from our favorite politicians.

Personally I see gun control as adouble-edged sword of sorts. On the one hand it can keep dangerous weapons out of the hands of the more unstable parts of the population and on the other hand most gun owners are people who have acquired their weapon for legitimate reasons (hunting, home protection, work related) and do not intend to assassinate a public figure or commit a school shooting.
It hasn't been proved that Mr. Loughner was unstable. Also, it is good to point out that if a crazy person wants a gun bad enough there are always illegal ways to obtain one.On the one hand it can keep dangerous weapons out of the hands of the more unstable parts of the population
On a brighter note; The Westboro Baptist Church is going to be visiting Tuscon to picket the funerals of the shooting victims.
I was not specifically referring to Lounghner, I was just talking about unstable people in general but I agree with the other point. I still think that if it makes obtaining the weapon any more of a challenge for the mentally unstable it is a good thing. I am not at all trying to say that gun control will bring about a world in which people will not find a way to kill each other.
This explains why Sunday's college basketball game was canceled, if that's right...
