The Legend of Dragoon is an rpg developed and published by Sony for the PlayStation. It was released in Japan on December 2, 1999, North America on June 11, 2000, and on January 19, 2001 in Europe. Despite mixed critical reception, the game has amassed a very large fan base following, including several online petitions for a sequel. This is among my top 3 favorite PS1 games and IMO it is a genuine tragedy that they have no intention of making a second one. it had an amazing combo battle system. and the transformation aspect was awesome. A lot of people like to make the accusation that they were trying to rip off Final Fantasy 7 but that was a unmitigated falsehood. It is now in the pathion of epic rare games like the aforementioned FFVII and marvel vs capcom

MvC and FFVII aren't even rare anymore as you can get digital copies of them easily. Maybe the tangible forms are rare, but not the games themselves.

As for LoD. Yeah, it was a fun game. I wouldn't say it was a copy of FFVII, but it did take a few things from Square RPGs and expanded on them, but tons of RPGs at the time did the same since Final Fantasy games were setting bars left and right.

Legend of Dragoon was a great game. Still my Favorite rpg is FF14.

Anyways, I have this game on my PSP. =3 =3

EDIT: The game is out on the Japanese PSN store as well. >_> Theese Japanese gets all the good games. v_v

FFXIV is a MMORPG. It wouldnt really fit in the RPG genre. The game itself sounds interesting.

Legend of Dragoon was the sickest! I remember when I was younger, maybe somewhere around 8-10, I had the game for PS1 but on the fourth disc, something happened. I was stuck in the dessert and then one day, my disc wouldn't read and I tried everything but nothing worked so I could never finish the game. Then around 2-3 years ago, I downloaded a PS1 Emulator and downloaded LoD and finnaly beat it! It was such a sick game for me. The only bad thing about the game IMO was the voice acting for the cut scenes...terrible haha.
