royksopp / senior
the counterpart to last years release; junior. while junior was filled with upbeat and vocally centered songs, senior is much darker and more intoverted. senior is definately an album that was made to be listened to from beginning to end, as a whole. at first, this album didnt appeal to me as much as junior, but after listening a few times,i began to be captivated by its haunting melodies and polyphonic secrets. although senior is much different from anything royksopp has released in the past, it is still infused with royksopp's unique and unmistakable style. so if you like electronic music, and you have about 50 minutes of free time, give senior a listen...
Re: royksopp / senior
Just so you know, there isn't much behind its subtleties. I think it's the worst album they released so far.
Junior was great, but subtlety was not its strong suit, so most of it got old pretty quickly.
If they merged these two albums into one, it could easily turn out to be their magnum opus. In the meantime, the copy of The Understanding remains on my shelf.
