Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop(New GW Novel)
GW fans...rejoice! Apparently, GW's head scriptwriter Katsuyuki Sumisawa's GW novel will be serialized in the magazine Gundam Ace.
Attachment 43670
I'll say, the story is certainly interesting and while I didn't like the story would shift away from the pilots a bit, I still think this could be a good novel. As for debates about the novel's "canon-ness", considering it's being written someone who had about as much creative input on GW as anyone, I'd say it's canon.

Looks pretty interesting.
I wonder if they would ever think of adapting it to a CG style online animation A'la Igloo.
Anyhow, it will take some time, and hopefully high response numbers. Cause you know they won't even look at it unless it has a lot of buzz.
I imagine, the next Gundam deal that will be made will be some movie for Seed. (would rather a Wing story mind you)

Wow a new GW novel? Sounds awesome. I'll search for it and see if it is as good as I am hearing.
Re: Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop(New GW Novel)
Awesome! I love Gundam Wing, but it kinda sucks that Hilde is dead. Nevertheless, I agree that the AC timeline needs more TLC. I was never a big fan of the UC stuff, frankly I thought they were going a little overboard with Unicorn.
Re: Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop(New GW Novel)
The story has heated up somewhat. It was good to see a picture of an older Hilde in the newest chapter.
Re: Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop(New GW Novel)
I was a HUGE Gundam Wing fan back when it first premiered, and I still think it is the best Gundam series to date! I mean don't get me wrong Gundam 00 season 2 really came close to matching Gundam Wing in story, still i've learned that just because a series is newer, doesn't mean it's necessarily better! But I am looking forward to this new novel.:D
Re: Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop(New GW Novel)
It is great that Gundam Wing has a new novel out. It was my very first Gundam series I have seen, same goes for my friends. I do not like how they have drawn away from AC. Originally since it takes place what would be AC 219 (if they had still based it in AC). In me & my friends' eyes, I still see it in the AC era. We have a whole different future planned for the pilots & everyone in it, just amongst me & my friends, anyway. We still talk about it to this day. I just e-mailed a very best friend of mine about it to see her reaction about it. She'll probably react the same way as I did. She'll probably go "WTF?! That is not how the future is for them." Well, if it becomes a anime, I will watch it, even though I will see everything differently. I eventually paired my OC for it (a female Gundam Pilot named 08 GP Alana "Alan" Mirazaki from L2 Colony) with both Heero & Duo. I know it might sound gross, but it is the way it happens.

After Colony is still the setting. All that's changed is the name of the era. When you consider the reasoning, it makes sense as people living on Mars is as big a milestone as people moving living in colonies.
As for the pilots' future, I understand you not liking it so far. To me though, I think it's fitting...
What's happened to Heero is surprising but from everything we know about him, settling down with a girl just didn't seem likely in my opinion.
It's highly doubtful this novel gets animated but Sumisawa has talked about it being a "bridge" to a true sequel (not in those exact words) that would be animated.
On another note, in your fic, how do things turn out for Wufei?
