Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
Well on certain websites, a lot of discussions have taken place about the most likely upcoming Ruby and Sapphire remakes coming in 2013! That year isn't obviously official yet, but it would make sense, being around a decade after the original releases of Ruby/Sapphire.
Black/White - 2011.. I think. Not sure.
Hmm.. Gray? - 2012.
Ruby / Sapphire Remakes - 2013
There has also been numerous hints on these games from Heart Gold and Soul Silver including references like Steven.
Would you buy this remake? What are you thoughts on the most likely making of this game? Waiting for Pokemon Black and White and not really interested in these remakes at the moment?

Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
If all they did was upgrade the graphics I might go out and get it, but I have a rather nagging feeling that they're not going to remake Ruby or Sapphire. Could just be me...

Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
I agree with Obsidian Judge; I don't think there will be remakes. There would be no point anyway since the pkmn from that region weren't exactly the best to begin with.

Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
Why would they remake a game that's still playable on the DS? I doubt they will.

Not to mention the fact that you can import them as well.

Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
I disagree with you guys lol.I can see it getting made one day, and possibly in a few years! Even if the original is playable on the DS, and DS version would be perfect. If Kanto and Johto get remakes, Hoenn will.

Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
Kanto and Johto where on the GB/GBP. Truthfully, the money is better spent on another game.

Ruby and Sapphire were probably the worst selling pokemon games, short of platinum. Nintendo has no reason to remake them...

Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
Wait . . . but I'm still trying to beat the original ones! DX

The reason R/B and G/S were remade was to make them compatible with Gen 3(R/S) and Gen 4(D/P). Since R/S is already compatible with all of the games, there's no reason for them to be remade. Not to mention Gen 3 was by far the least popular, and has received substantial criticism; there wouldn't be a lot of profit in remaking them.

Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
Yeah, I honestly can't form an opinion at this point. Give me a couple of years, and then maybe, but for right now that's too far off for me to have any say really.

Yea I see where your coming from, but in like 3 - 5 years you can't see a remake being constructed? Even if they were the worst selling pokemon games.
Also, weren't Ruby and Sapphire the best selling GBA games? Even more sold than LG and FR? I could be wrong about that though.

I sincerely doubt that. No offense, but I found R&S to be.....lacking.

Neh, I actually believe its true, so I read. They weren't that bad and the game had a decent plot to it.
They sold around 13 million, check around the interwebs.

Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
Actually, LP is right, R/S was the top selling GBA game at 13 mil. LG/FR where in second by about 1.5 mil. They weren't terrible. But I lost interest with Emerald after breeding the best team possible. They don't ever change formula.

Besides that, well even so the possibility that they're going to remake them is slim to none. One of the reasons they remade Silver and Gold was their ridiculously large popularity. EVERYBODY wanted those two remade. And I know for a fact that Ruby and Sapphire don't have that fan base.
-
Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
Nope, but the best selling version is still Red and Blue at 20 mil. G/S has 15 mil sold.

Even if not in three years, you can predict in around five years fans won't want a remake and the makers wouldn't create one? If they sold 13 million, they either must of had a decent fan base, or people just picked them up because they were titled "pokemon". And what happens when the DS finally gets dropped and a new handheld system is created and the GBA no longer can link with the DS.
Also thinking, not everyone owns a DS/DS Lite, and some people own a DS XL, which isn't compatible with GBA.
-
Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
I'd like to point out that the DSi and DSXL have poor sales and shouldn't be used in an argument.

Even so, I just don't see the DS lasting forever, and I don't see the GBA option lasting forever. Once a new handheld system is created, which may not be for a very long time, I can see some of the games being remade, so its possible to capture some pokemon that isn't normally capturable in some of the games.
Also, hints show that a remake is possible, either that pr they are just leaving the door open for possibilities. And even then, it is true that some people only own a DSI/XL, so its its rather tough for some people to get the GBA Hoenn Pokemon.

Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
I still see it being around in five years. Same with The PSP, PS3, XBox 360 and the Wii.

Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
Bah. Why be all the R/S hate?
Seriously, Emerald was my favorite after Gold. I also thought that the 3rd gen of Pokemon were the best thus far; they were the most creative, and were the most "natural" feeling.
now, like I said, I don't have enough information to make a verdict on a remake, but for all it's worth the original R/S/E were awesome.

I agree, I actually still play my Ruby, and I've had it for around seven years.
On Emerald I still haven't beat the battle frontier, which is kinda odd because a lot of other people I know found them easy. The pokemon look much better than a lot of these 5 gen. pokemon, but maybe that's just my opinion and isnt shared by others.
I just can't see how a remake wouldn't be possible, looking at how many hints are found in SS + HG.
Also even if the DS goes on for five years, I can't see the GBA option being available, and how LG and FR were needed, soon enough a Ruby/Sapphire remake would be needed. Its only a matter of time.

Re: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes.
I haven't beat the frontier but that's because of the annoying luck based one. And they will always sell the original or light version. I only see the recent models as gimmicks. Yes, that includes the 3DS.
